절	공동번역 개정판 (1999)	King James Version
1	일치를 호소함 주님을 위해서 일하다가 감옥에 갇힌 내가 여러분에게 권고합니다. 하느님께서 여러분을 불러주셨으니 그 불러주신 목적에 합당하게 살아가십시오.	I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2	겸손과 온유와 인내를 다하여 사랑으로 서로 너그럽게 대하십시오.	With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3	성령께서 평화의 줄로 여러분을 묶어 하나가 되게 하여주신 것을 그대로 보존하도록 노력하십시오.	Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4	그리스도의 몸도 하나이며 성령도 하나입니다. 이와 같이 하느님께서 여러분을 당신의 백성으로 부르셔서 안겨주시는 희망도 하나입니다.	There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5	주님도 한 분이시고 믿음도 하나이고 세례도 하나이며	One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6	만민의 아버지이신 하느님도 한 분이십니다. 그분은 만물 위에 계시고 만물을 꿰뚫어 계시며 만물 안에 계십니다.	One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7	그리스도께서는 우리들에게 각각 다른 은총을 알맞게 나누어주셨습니다.	But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8	성서에도, "그가 높은 곳으로 올라가면서 사로잡은 자들을 데리고 가셨고 사람들에게 선물을 나누어주셨다." 라는 말씀이 있지 않습니까?	Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9	그런데 올라가셨다는 말은 또한 땅 아래의 세계에까지 내려가셨다는 말이 아니고 무엇이겠습니까?	(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10	그리로 내려가셨던 바로 그분이 모든 것을 완성하시려고 하늘 위로 올라가셨습니다.	He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11	바로 그분이 사람들에게 각각 다른 선물을 은총으로 주셔서 어떤 사람들은 사도로, 어떤 사람들은 예언하는 사람으로, 어떤 사람들은 전도자로, 어떤 사람들은 목자와 교사로 삼으셨습니다.	And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12	그것은 성도들을 준비시켜서 봉사 활동을 하게 하여 그리스도의 몸을 자라게 하시려는 것입니다.	For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13	마침내 우리 모두가 하느님의 아드님에 대한 믿음과 지식에 있어서 하나가 되어 성숙한 인간으로서 그리스도의 완전성에 도달하게 되는 것입니다.	Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14	그 때에는 우리가 이미 어린아이가 아니어서 인간의 간교한 유혹이나 속임수로써 사람들을 잘못에 빠뜨리는 교설의 풍랑에 흔들리거나 이리저리 밀려다니는 일이 있어서는 안 될 것입니다.	That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15	도리어 우리는 사랑 가운데서 진리대로 살면서 여러 면에서 자라나, 머리이신 그리스도와 한 몸이 되어야 합니다.	But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16	우리의 몸은 각 부분이 자기 구실을 다함으로써 각 마디로 서로 연결되고 얽혀서 영양분을 받아 자라납니다. 그리스도를 머리로 하는 교회도 이와 같이 하여 사랑으로 자체를 완성해 나가는 것입니다.	From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
17	그리스도 안에서 사는 새 생활 그러므로 나는 주님의 이름으로 여러분에게 간곡히 권고합니다. 이제부터 여러분은 이방인들처럼 살지 마십시오. 그들은 헛된 생각을 하고	This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18	마음이 어두워져서 하느님께서 주시는 생명을 받지 못할 사람이 되었습니다. 그것은 그들이 무지하고 마음이 완고하기 때문입니다.	Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19	그들은 도덕적인 감각을 잃고 제멋대로 방탕에 빠져서 온갖 더러운 짓을 하고 있습니다.	Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20	그러나 여러분은 그리스도를 그렇게 배우지는 않았습니다.	But ye have not so learned Christ;
21	그리스도 예수 안에는 진리가 있을 따름인데 여러분이 그의 가르침을 그대로 듣고 배웠다면	If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22	옛 생활을 청산하고, 정욕에 말려들어 썩어져 가는 낡은 인간성을 벗어버리고,	That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23	마음과 생각이 새롭게 되어	And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24	하느님의 형상대로 창조된 새 사람으로 갈아 입어야 합니다. 새 사람은 올바르고 거룩한 진리의 생활을 하는 사람입니다.	And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25	새 생활의 법칙 그러므로 거짓말을 하지 말고 이웃에게 진실을 말하십시오. 우리는 서로 한 몸의 지체들입니다.	Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26	화나는 일이 있더라도 죄를 짓지 마십시오. 해 질 때까지 화를 풀지 않으면 안 됩니다.	Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27	악마에게 발붙일 기회를 주지 마십시오.	Neither give place to the devil.
28	도둑질하던 사람은 이제부터 그런 짓을 그만두고 제 손으로 일하여 떳떳하게 살며 가난한 사람들을 도와줄 수 있도록 노력하십시오.	Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
29	남을 해치는 말은 입 밖에도 내지 마십시오. 오히려 기회 있는 대로 남에게 이로운 말을 하여 도움을 주고 듣는 사람에게 기쁨을 주도록 하십시오.	Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
30	마지막 날에 여러분을 해방하여 하느님의 백성으로 삼으실 것을 보증해 주신 하느님의 성령을 슬프게 하여드리지 마십시오.	And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31	모든 독설과 격정과 분노와 고함 소리와 욕설 따위는 온갖 악의와 더불어 내어버리십시오.	Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32	여러분은 서로 너그럽고 따뜻하게 대해 주며 하느님께서 그리스도를 통해서 여러분을 용서하신 것처럼 서로 용서하십시오.	And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
