1	밤마다 잠자리에 들면, 사랑하는 임 그리워 애가 탔건만, 찾는 임은 간 데 없어	By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
2	일어나 온 성을 돌아다니며 이 거리 저 장터에서 사랑하는 임 찾으리라 마음먹고 찾아 헤맸으나 찾지 못하였네.	I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
3	성 안을 순찰하는 야경꾼들을 만나 "사랑하는 나의 임 못 보셨소?"	The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?
4	물으며 지나치다가 애타게 그리던 임을 만났다네. 나는 놓칠세라 임을 붙잡고 기어이 어머니 집으로 끌고 왔다네. 어머니가 나를 잉태하던 바로 이 방으로 들어왔다네.	It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
5	(신랑) 들판을 뛰노는 노루 사슴 같은 예루살렘의 아가씨들아, 이 사랑이 잦아들기까지 제발 방해하지 말아다오. 흔들어 깨우지 말아다오.	I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
6	(합창단) 저기 사막에서 올라오는 분은 누구신가? 연기 치솟듯이 올라오시네. 몰약과 유향 냄새 풍기며, 상인들이 사고 파는 온갖 향수의 냄새를 풍기며.	Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
7	보아라, 솔로몬이 가마를 타고 오신다. 이스라엘 군사 중에서도 빼어난 장사, 육십 명의 호위를 받으며 오신다.	Behold his bed, which is Solomon’s; threescore valiant men are about it, of the valiant of Israel.
8	모두들 칼 잘 쓰는 조련된 군인들, 밤에 불측한 일이라도 있을까 하여 허리에 칼을 찼구나.	They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
9	솔로몬 왕은 손수 타실 연을 레바논 재목으로 만드셨다네.	King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon.
10	은기둥에 금닫집 바닥은 가죽끈으로 엮어 붙은 담요를 깔았다네.	He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.
11	예루살렘의 아가씨들아, 시온의 아가씨들아, 나와서 뵈어라. 이 즐거운 혼인날, 솔로몬 왕은 그 어머니가 씌워주신 면류관을 쓰고 계시는구나.	Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.
