절	공동번역 개정판 (1999)	King James Version
1	회개하면 포로 생활에서 돌아오게 되리라 내가 오늘 너희 앞에 내놓는 복과 저주를 담은 이 말이 그대로 다 이루어져서 너희 하느님 야훼께서 너희를 모든 민족들 가운데 흩으셨다고 하자. 그러나 거기에서라도 제정신이 들어	And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee,
2	너희 하느님 야훼께 돌아와서 너희와 너희 자손이 마음을 모아 기울이고 있는 정성을 다 쏟아 오늘 내가 지시하는 말을 그대로 순종하기만 하면,	And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;
3	너희 하느님 야훼께서는 너희를 불쌍히 보시고 포로 생활에서 돌아오게 해주실 것이다. 너희 하느님 야훼께 쫓겨갔던 너희를 만백성 가운데서 다시 모아들이시리라.	That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.
4	너희가 비록 하늘과 땅이 맞닿는 데까지 흩어져 갔더라도 너희 하느님 야훼께서는 너희를 거기에서 모아 데려오실 것이다.	If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:
5	너희 하느님 야훼께서 너희를 너희 선조들이 차지했던 땅으로 데려오시어 그 땅을 다시 차지하게 하실 것이다. 그리고 너희를 선조들보다 더 잘되게 해주시고 더 불어나게 해주실 것이다.	And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.
6	그리고 너희 하느님 야훼께서 너희 마음과 너희 후손의 마음의 껍질을 벗겨 할례를 베풀어주실 것이다. 그리하여 너희가 마음을 다 기울이고 정성을 다 쏟아 너희 하느님 야훼를 사랑하며 복된 삶을 누리게 해주시고	And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
7	너희를 괴롭히던 너희 원수와 적들에게 그 모든 저주를 내리시리라.	And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.
8	그러나 너희는 마음을 돌이켜 야훼의 말씀을 순종하게 될 것이며 내가 오늘 내리는 그의 모든 명령을 실천하게 될 것이다.	And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the Lord, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.
9	그리고 너희 하느님 야훼께서는 너희가 손으로 하는 모든 일, 너희 몸의 소생들, 가축의 새끼들, 밭의 소출을 넘치게 해주실 것이다. 야훼께서는 마음을 돌이키시어 너희를 잘되게 해주시는 일이 마냥 기쁘실 것이다. 일찍이 기뻐하심으로써 너희 선조들을 잘되게 해주셨듯이 너희에게도 잘 해주실 것이다.	And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
10	물론 너희 하느님 야훼의 말씀을 들어 이 법전에 기록되어 있는 그의 계명과 규정을 지키고 너희 마음을 다 기울이고 정성을 다 쏟아 너희 하느님 야훼께 돌아와야 그렇게 해주실 것이다.	If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
11	하느님의 계명은 어려운 것이 아니다 내가 오늘 너희에게 내리는 이 법은 너희로서 엄두도 내지 못할 일이거나 미치지 못할 일은 아니다.	For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
12	그것은 하늘에 있는 것이 아니다. '누가 하늘에 올라가서 그 법을 내려다 주지 않으려나? 그러면 우리가 듣고 그대로 할 터인데.' 하고 말하지 마라.	It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
13	바다 건너 저쪽에 있는 것도 아니다. '누가 이 바다를 건너가서 그 법을 가져다 주지 않으려나? 그러면 우리가 듣고 그대로 할 터인데.' 하고 말하지도 마라.	Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
14	그것은 너희와 아주 가까운 곳에 있다. 너희 입에 있고 너희 마음에 있어서 하려고만 하면 언제든지 할 수 있는 것이다.	But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
15	생명의 길과 죽음의 길 보아라. 나는 오늘 생명과 죽음, 행복과 불행을 너희 앞에 내놓는다.	See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
16	내가 오늘 내리는 너희 하느님 야훼의 명령을 순종하며 너희 하느님 야훼를 사랑하고 그가 지시하신 길을 걸으며 그의 계명과 규정과 법령을 지키면 너희는 복되게 살며 번성할 것이다. 너희가 들어가 차지하려는 땅에서 너희 하느님 야훼께서 내리시는 복을 누릴 것이다.	In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
17	그러나 너희 마음이 변하여 순종하지 아니하면, 하느님께 추방당하여 다른 신들 앞에 엎드려 그것들을 섬기게 될 것이다.	But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18	오늘 나는 너희에게 일러둔다. 그리되면 너희는 반드시 망하리라. 너희가 이제 요르단 강을 건너가 차지하려는 땅에서 오래 살지 못할 것이다.	I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
19	나는 오늘 하늘과 땅을 증인으로 세우고 너희 앞에 생명과 죽음, 복과 저주를 내놓는다. 너희나 너희 후손이 잘살려거든 생명을 택하여라.	I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20	그것은 너희 하느님 야훼를 사랑하는 것이요 그의 말씀을 듣고 그에게만 충성을 다하는 것이다. 그것이 야훼께서 너희 선조, 아브라함과 이사악과 야곱에게 주겠다고 맹세하신 땅에 자리잡고 오래 잘사는 길이다."	That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
