1	다윗의 마지막 말 이것은 다윗이 남긴 마지막 말이다. 야곱의 하느님께서 기름 부어 세우신 자요, 이스라엘의 수호자가 귀여워하시는 자, 이새의 아들 다윗의 말이다. 가장 높으신 분이 세우신 영웅의 말이다.	Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2	야훼께서 나에게 영감을 주시어 말씀하셨다. 당신의 말씀을 내 혀에 담아주셨다.	The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3	야곱의 하느님께서 말씀하셨다. 이스라엘의 바위 되시는 이가 나에게 말씀하셨다. "백성을 정의로 다스리는 자, 하느님 두려운 줄 알고 왕노릇 할 자,	The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4	그는 아침에 터져 오는 햇빛, 구름이 걷힌 아침의 해 같아, 이슬을 머금은 푸성귀가 땅에서 이 빛을 받아 자란다."	And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5	야훼께서 나와 영원한 계약을 맺으시고, 조목조목 잘 지켜주셨는데 하느님께서 붙드시는 나의 왕실이 어찌 흔들리랴? 하느님께서 나를 좋아하시어 번번이 구해 주셨는데, 나의 왕실이 어찌 번성하지 않으랴?	Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
6	그러나 하늘 두려운 줄 모르는 자들은 마치 빈들의 가시나무 같아 사람들이 집었다가도 곧 내버린다.	But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
7	쇠꼬챙이나 창대를 가지지 않고는 건드리지 못할 것들, 불에 살라 태워버릴 수밖에.	But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.
8	다윗의 장군들 다윗의 부하 용사들 이름은 다음과 같다. 하그모니 사람 이스보셋, 이 사람은 삼용사의 우두머리였는데 창을 휘둘러 단번에 팔백 명이나 무찌른 일이 있었다.	These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
9	다음이 아호 사람으로 도도의 아들 엘르아잘이었다. 그도 삼용사 가운데 하나였다. 불레셋 군이 싸우려고 바스담밈에 집결했을 때, 그는 이스라엘 군이 퇴각한 다음에도 다윗과 함께 있다가	And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
10	끝까지 버티고 서서 불레셋 군을 쳤는데, 손이 굳어져서 칼 잡은 손이 풀리지 않을 정도였다. 그 날 야훼께서 큰 승리를 안겨주셨다. 그제야 이스라엘 군이 다시 엘르아잘에게로 돌아왔지만 그들에게는 죽은 사람들을 터는 일밖에 할 일이 없었다.	He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the Lord wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11	다음이 하랄 사람 아게의 아들 삼마였다. 한번은 불레셋 군이 레히에 집결한 것을 보고 이스라엘 군이 도망친 일이 있었다. 거기에는 무르익은 팥밭이 있었다.	And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
12	그는 그 밭 한복판에 버티고 서서 곡식을 지키며 불레셋 군을 쳤다. 이리하여 야훼께서 큰 승리를 안겨주셨다.	But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the Lord wrought a great victory.
13	삼십인부대 가운데 이 세 용사가 추수가 시작될 무렵에 아둘람 동굴에 있는 다윗을 찾아갔는데, 마침 불레셋 군이 르바임 골짜기에 진을 치고 있었다.	And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
14	그 때 다윗은 산채에 있었고 불레셋 수비대는 베들레헴에 있었다.	And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth–lehem.
15	하루는 다윗이 베들레헴 성문 곁에 있는 우물 물이 생각나서 그 물을 길어다 줄 사람이 없겠느냐고 하자,	And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Beth–lehem, which is by the gate!
16	이 세 용사가 불레셋 진을 뚫고 들어가 베들레헴 성문 곁에 있는 우물에서 물을 길어다 다윗에게 바쳤다. 그러나 다윗은 그 물을 마시지 않고 야훼께 부어드리며,	And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth–lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord.
17	"이 물을 마셨다가는 야훼께 벌을 받을 것이다. 목숨을 걸고 갔다 온 이 사람들의 피나 다름없는 물을 내가 어찌 마시랴!" 하고는 끝내 마시지 않았다. 이런 것들이 세 용사가 한 일들이었다.	And he said, Be it far from me, O Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18	스루야의 아들 요압의 아우 아비새는 삼십인부대의 수령이었다. 그는 창을 휘둘러 단번에 삼백 명이나 무찔러서 삼십인부대 안에서도 용명을 떨쳤다.	And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
19	그는 삼십인부대 안에서 가장 뛰어났으므로 삼십인부대의 수령이 되기는 했지만, 아직 삼용사에 미치지는 못했다.	Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
20	캅스엘 출신으로 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 많은 공을 세운 용사였다. 그가 바로 모압의 두 장사를 쳐죽였고, 눈 오는 날 구렁에 빠진 사자를 내려가서 때려죽인 사람이다.	And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21	그는 또 이집트의 한 거인을 죽인 일도 있다. 그 이집트인은 창을 들고 있었는데, 브나야는 막대기를 들고 그에게 내려가 그 손에서 창을 빼앗아서 찔러 죽였다.	And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22	여호야다의 아들 브나야는 이런 일들을 해서 삼십인부대에 끼일 만큼 유명해졌다.	These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
23	그도 삼십인부대 안에서는 유명했지만 아직 삼용사에 미치지는 못했다. 다윗은 그를 자기의 호위대장으로 삼았다.	He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
24	삼십인 용사에 오른 사람은 요압의 아우 아사헬, 베들레헴 출신 도도의 아들 엘하난,	Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth–lehem,
25	하롯 출신 삼마, 하롯 출신 엘리카,	Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26	벳벨렛 출신 헬레스, 드고아 출신 익케스의 아들 이라,	Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27	아나돗 출신 아비에젤, 후사 출신 십개,	Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28	아호 출신 살몬, 느토바 출신 마하래,	Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29	느토바 출신 바아나의 아들 헬렛, 베냐민 기브아 출신 리배의 아들 이때,	Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30	비라돈 출신 브나야, 가스 계곡 출신 히때,	Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31	아라바 출신 아비알본, 바후림 출신 아즈마웻,	Abi–albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32	살본 출신 엘랴흐바, 기존 출신 하셈,	Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33	하랄 출신 삼마의 아들 요나단, 하랄 출신 사랄의 아들 아히암,	Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,
34	마아가 출신 아하스배의 아들 엘리벨렛, 길로 출신 아히도벨의 아들 엘리암,	Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
35	가르멜 출신 헤스로, 아랍 출신 바아래,	Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36	소바 출신 나단의 아들 이갈, 가드 출신 바니,	Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37	암몬 출신 셀렉, 스루야의 아들 요압의 무기당번이던 브에롯 출신 나하래,	Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
38	야띨 출신 이라, 야띨 출신 가렙,	Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,
39	헷 사람 우리야, 이렇게 모두 삼십칠 명이었다.	Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
