1	예수 그리스도의 족보 아브라함의 후손이요, 다윗의 자손인 예수 그리스도의 족보는 다음과 같다.	The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2	아브라함은 이사악을 낳았고 이사악은 야곱을, 야곱은 유다와 그의 형제를 낳았으며	Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
3	유다는 다말에게서 베레스와 제라를 낳았고 베레스는 헤스론을, 헤스론은 람을,	And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
4	람은 암미나답을, 암미나답은 나흐손을, 나흐손은 살몬을 낳았고	And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
5	살몬은 라합에게서 보아즈를 낳았으며 보아즈는 룻에게서 오벳을 낳았고 오벳은 이새를,	And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
6	이새는 다윗 왕을 낳았다. 다윗은 우리야의 아내에게서 솔로몬을 낳았고	And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
7	솔로몬은 르호보암을, 르호보암은 아비야를, 아비야는 아삽을,	And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
8	아삽은 여호사밧을, 여호사밧은 요람을, 요람은 우찌야를,	And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
9	우찌야는 요담을, 요담은 아하즈를, 아하즈는 히즈키야를,	And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
10	히즈키야는 므나쎄를, 므나쎄는 아모스를, 아모스는 요시야를 낳았고,	And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
11	이스라엘 민족이 바빌론으로 끌려갈 무렵에 요시야는 여고니야와 그의 동생들을 낳았다.	And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12	바빌론으로 끌려간 다음 여고니야는 스알디엘을 낳았고 스알디엘은 즈루빠벨을,	And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
13	즈루빠벨은 아비훗을, 아비훗은 엘리아킴을, 엘리아킴은 아졸을,	And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
14	아졸은 사독을, 사독은 아힘을, 아힘은 엘리훗을,	And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
15	엘리훗은 엘르아잘을, 엘르아잘은 마딴을, 마딴은 야곱을 낳았으며,	And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
16	야곱은 마리아의 남편 요셉을 낳았고 마리아에게서 예수가 나셨는데 이분을 그리스도라고 부른다.	And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17	그러므로 아브라함에서 다윗까지가 십사 대이고, 다윗에서 바빌론으로 끌려갈 때까지가 십사 대이며 바빌론으로 끌려간 다음 그리스도까지가 또한 십사 대이다. ()	So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
18	예수 그리스도의 탄생 예수 그리스도께서 태어나신 경위는 이러하다. 예수의 어머니 마리아는 요셉과 약혼을 하고 같이 살기 전에 잉태한 것이 드러났다. 그 잉태는 성령으로 말미암은 것이었다.	Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19	마리아의 남편 요셉은 법대로 사는 사람이었고 또 마리아의 일을 세상에 드러낼 생각도 없었으므로 남모르게 파혼하기로 마음먹었다.	Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20	요셉이 이런 생각을 하고 있을 무렵에 주의 천사가 꿈에 나타나서 "다윗의 자손 요셉아, 두려워하지 말고 마리아를 아내로 맞아들이어라. 그의 태중에 있는 아기는 성령으로 말미암은 것이다.	But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21	마리아가 아들을 낳을 터이니 그 이름을 예수라 하여라. 예수는 자기 백성을 죄에서 구원할 것이다." 하고 일러주었다.	And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22	이 모든 일로써 주께서 예언자를 시켜,	Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23	"동정녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니 그 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라." 하신 말씀이 그대로 이루어졌다. 임마누엘은 '하느님께서 우리와 함께 계시다.'는 뜻이다.	Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24	잠에서 깨어난 요셉은 주의 천사가 일러준 대로 마리아를 아내로 맞아들였다.	Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25	그러나 아들을 낳을 때까지 동침하지 않고 지내다가 마리아가 아들을 낳자 그 아기를 예수라고 불렀다.	And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
