절	공동번역 개정판 (1999)	King James Version
1	나는 하느님 앞에서 그리고 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하실 그리스도 예수 앞에서 그대에게 엄숙히 명령합니다. 그리고 그리스도께서 다시 나타나실 것과 군림하실 것을 믿고 그대에게 당부합니다.	I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2	하느님의 말씀을 전파하시오. 기회가 좋든지 나쁘든지 꾸준히 전하고 끝까지 참고 가르치면서 사람들을 책망하고 훈계하고 격려하시오.	Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3	사람들이 건전한 가르침을 듣기 싫어할 때가 올 것입니다. 그 때에 그들은 자기네 귀를 만족시키기 위해서 마음에 맞는 교사들을 끌어들일 것입니다.	For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4	그리고 진리에는 귀를 기울이지 않고 꾸며낸 이야기에 마음을 팔 것입니다.	And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5	그러나 그대는 언제나 정신을 차리고 고난을 견디어내며 복음 전하는 일에 힘을 다하여 그대의 사명을 완수하시오.	But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6	나는 이미 피를 부어서 희생제물이 될 준비를 갖추었습니다. 내가 세상을 떠날 때가 왔습니다.	For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7	나는 훌륭하게 싸웠고 달릴 길을 다 달렸으며 믿음을 지켰습니다.	I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8	이제는 정의의 월계관이 나를 기다리고 있을 뿐입니다. 그날에 정의의 재판장이신 주님께서 그 월계관을 나에게 주실 것이며, 나에게뿐만 아니라, 다시 오실 주님을 사모하는 모든 사람에게도 주실 것입니다.	Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9	개인적인 부탁 그대는 속히 나에게로 오도록 힘쓰시오.	Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
10	데마는 이 현세를 사랑한 나머지 나를 버리고 데살로니카로 가버렸습니다. 그레스겐스는 갈라디아로 갔고 디도는 달마디아로 갔으며	For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
11	루가만이 나와 함께 있습니다. 마르코는 내가 하는 일에 꼭 필요한 사람이니 그를 데리고 오시오.	Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
12	나는 디키고를 에페소로 보냈습니다.	And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
13	그대가 이리로 올 때에 내가 트로아스에 있는 가르포의 집에 두고 온 내 외투와 책들을 가지고 오시오. 특히 양피지로 만든 책들을 꼭 가지고 오시오.	The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
14	구리 세공을 하는 알렉산드로가 나를 몹시 괴롭혔습니다. 그의 행실에 대하여 주님께서는 마땅한 벌을 내리실 것입니다.	Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15	그대도 그를 경계하시오. 그는 우리가 전도하는 것을 악착같이 반대한 사람입니다.	Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
16	내가 처음으로 재판정에 나갔을 때에 한 사람도 나를 도와주지 않고 모두가 버리고 가버렸습니다. 그러나 나를 버리고 간 그들이 엄한 벌을 받지 않게 되기를 바랍니다.	At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17	주께서는 나와 함께 계시며 나에게 힘을 주셨습니다. 그리하여 나는 하느님의 말씀을 완전히 선포할 수 있었고 그 말씀이 모든 이방인들에게 미치게 되었습니다. 그리고 주께서 나를 사자의 입에서 구해 주셨습니다.	Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18	앞으로도 나를 모든 악한 자들에게서 건져내어 구원하셔서 당신의 하늘 나라로 인도하여 주실 것입니다. 그분께 영광이 영원 무궁토록 있기를 빕니다. 아멘.	And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
19	작별 인사 브리스카와 아퀼라에게 문안하고 오네시포로의 가족들에게 문안해 주시오.	Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.
20	에라스도는 고린토에 머물러 있고 트로피모는 앓고 있기 때문에 밀레도스에 두고 왔습니다.	Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
21	그대는 겨울이 오기 전에 이리로 오도록 힘쓰시오. 유불로와 부덴스와 리노와 클라우디아와 그 밖의 모든 교우들이 그대에게 문안합니다.	Do thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
22	주께서 그대의 마음속에 계시기를 빌며 은총을 여러분에게 내려주시기를 빕니다.	The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen. The second epistle unto Timotheus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Ephesians, was written from Rome, when Paul was brought before Nero the second time.
