1	공식 예배에 대한 교훈 나는 무엇보다도 먼저 모든 사람을 위해서 간구와 기원과 간청과 감사의 기도를 드리라고 권하는 바입니다.	I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2	왕들과 높은 지위에 있는 모든 사람들을 위해서도 기도하시오. 그래야 우리가 조용하고 평화롭게 살면서 아주 경건하고도 근엄한 신앙 생활을 할 수 있을 것입니다.	For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3	이렇게 기도하는 것은 좋은 일이며 우리 구세주 하느님을 기쁘게 해드리는 일입니다.	For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4	하느님께서는 모든 사람이 다 구원을 받게 되고 진리를 알게 되기를 바라십니다.	Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5	하느님은 한 분뿐이시고 하느님과 사람 사이의 중재자도 한 분뿐이신데 그분이 바로 사람으로 오셨던 그리스도 예수이십니다.	For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6	그분은 자기 자신을 모든 사람을 위한 대속물로 바치셨습니다. 이렇게 해서 하느님의 뜻을 적절한 시기에 분명히 나타내 주셨습니다.	Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
7	나는 그리스도를 전하는 전도자와 사도로 임명을 받았으며 이방인들에게 믿음과 진리를 가르치는 교사가 되었습니다. 나는 거짓말을 하는 것이 아니라 참말을 하고 있습니다.	Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
8	어느 예배소에서나 남자들이 성을 내거나 다투거나 하는 일이 없이 깨끗한 손을 쳐들어 기도하기를 바랍니다.	I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
9	그리고 여자들은 정숙하고 단정한 옷차림을 해야 합니다. 머리를 지나치게 꾸미거나 금이나 진주로 치장을 하거나 비싼 옷을 입지 말고	In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10	오직 착한 행실로써 단장해야 합니다. 그래야 하느님을 공경한다는 여자에게 어울립니다.	But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
11	여자는 조용히 복종하는 가운데 배워야 합니다.	Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12	나는 여자가 남을 가르치거나 남자를 지배하는 것을 허락하지 않습니다. 여자는 침묵을 지켜야 합니다.	But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13	먼저 아담이 창조되었고 하와는 그 다음에 창조된 것입니다.	For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14	아담이 속은 것이 아니라 하와가 속아서 죄에 빠진 것입니다.	And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15	그러나 여자가 자녀를 낳아 기르면서 믿음과 사랑과 순결로써 단정한 생활을 계속하면 구원을 받을 것입니다.	Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
