1	대사제 엘랴십은 동료 사제들을 거느리고 양 다니는 문을 세우기 시작하였다. 문틀을 짜고 문을 만들어 달았다. 그런 다음 메아 망대까지, 또 하나넬 망대까지 수축하여 하느님께 봉헌하였다.	Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.
2	그 옆에 잇닿은 부분은 예리고 사람들이 세웠으며, 그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 이므리의 아들 자구르가 세웠다.	And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.
3	물고기문은 하쓰나아 일가가 세웠다. 문틀을 짜고 문짝을 만들어 달고 빗장과 빗장꽂이를 만들어 달았다.	But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
4	그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 하코스의 손자요 우리야의 아들인 므레못이 보수하였고 그 옆에 잇닿은 부분은 므세자브엘의 손자요 베레기야의 아들인 므술람이 보수하였으며, 그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 바아나의 아들 사독이 보수하였다.	And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.
5	그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 드고아 사람들이 보수하였는데, 그들 가운데 어떤 유력자들은 상전들의 말대로 공사에 가담하지 않았다.	And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
6	신시가 문은 바세아의 아들 요야다와 브소디야의 아들 므술람이 보수하였다. 문틀을 짜고 문짝을 만들어 달고 빗장과 빗장꽂이를 만들어 달았다.	Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
7	그 옆에 잇닿은 부분은 유프라테스 서부 지방 총독의 자리가 위치하였던 곳까지 기브온 사람 믈라티야와 메로놋 사람 야돈이 기브온 사람들과 미스바 사람들을 데리고 보수하였다.	And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.
8	그 옆에 잇닿은 부분은 대장장이였던 하르하야의 아들 우찌엘이 보수하였다. 그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 향료 제조업자 하나니야가 예루살렘 성의 넓은 벽까지 보수를 마쳤다.	Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
9	그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 예루살렘 반 구역의 장이었던, 후르의 아들 르바이야가 보수하였다.	And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.
10	또 그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 하루맙의 아들 여다야가 보수하였는데, 이 부분은 바로 그의 집 앞이었다. 그 옆에 잇닿은 부분은 하삽니야의 아들 하투스가 보수하였다.	And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.
11	그 다음 잇닿은 그만한 부분은 하림의 아들 말기야와 바핫모압의 아들 하숩이 보수하였다. 그들은 도가니 망대도 보수하였다.	Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahath–moab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.
12	그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 예루살렘 반 구역의 장이었던 할로헷의 아들 살룸이 자기 딸들을 거느리고 보수하였다.	And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
13	골짜기로 나가는 문은 하눈과 자노아의 주민들이 보수하였다. 성문을 세우고 문짝을 만들어 달고 빗장과 빗장꽂이를 만들어 달았다. 또 그들은 쓰레기 쳐내는 문에 이르기까지 성벽 천 규빗을 보수하였다.	The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.
14	쓰레기 쳐내는 문은 벳하께렘 구역의 장이었던 레갑의 아들 말기야가 보수하였다. 성문을 세우고 문짝을 만들고 빗장과 빗장꽂이를 만들어 달았다.	But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Beth–haccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
15	샘터로 나가는 문은 미스바 구역의 장이었던 골호재의 아들 살룸이 보수하였다. 문을 세우고 지붕을 얹은 다음 문짝을 만들고 빗장과 빗장꽂이를 만들어 달았다. 또 그는 왕궁 동산 옆에 있는 셀라 늪 성벽을 다윗의 도성에서 내려오는 층계에 이르기까지 보수하였다.	But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Col–hozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.
16	그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 아즈북의 아들 느헤미야가 보수하였다. 그는 벳술 구역의 장으로서 다윗의 묘지 앞과 사람이 파서 만든 늪과 용사들의 집까지 보수하였다.	After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Beth–zur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.
17	그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 바니의 아들 르훔이 레위인들을 거느리고 보수하였다. 그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 하사비야가 크일라 반 구역의 장으로서 자기 구역을 대표해서 보수하였다.	After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.
18	그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 크일라 반 구역의 장이었던 헤나닷의 아들 바왜가 그의 일가 사람들을 데리고 보수하였다.	After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.
19	그 다음 잇닿은 그만한 부분을 성 모퉁이에 있는 무기창 비탈 앞까지 보수한 것은 미스바 구역의 장이었던 예수아의 아들 에제르였다.	And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.
20	그 다음 잇닿은 또 그만한 부분을 성 모퉁이에서 대사제 엘랴십의 집 문에 이르기까지 보수한 것은 자빼의 아들 바룩이었다.	After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
21	그 다음 잇닿은 또 그만한 부분을 엘랴십의 집 문에서 엘랴십의 집 한 끝에 이르기까지 보수한 것은 하코스의 손자요 우리야의 아들인 므레못이었다.	After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.
22	그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 예루살렘 둘레에서 사는 사제들이 보수하였다.	And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.
23	그 다음, 베냐민과 하숩이 저희 집 앞부분을 보수하였다. 그 다음은 아나니야의 손자요 마아세야의 아들인 아자리야가 보수하였다. 그 곳은 그의 집 옆이었다.	After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.
24	그 다음 잇닿은 그만한 부분을 아자리야의 집에서 성 굽이 모퉁이에 이르기까지 보수한 것은 헤나닷의 아들 빈누이였다.	After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.
25	우재의 아들 발랄은 거기 성 모퉁이에서 시작하여 윗대궐에서 내민 성루 맞은편까지 보수하였다. 그 성루는 시위대 뜰에 붙어 서 있었다. 그 다음은 바로스의 아들 브다야가 보수하였다.	Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.
26	그들은 해 뜨는 쪽에 있는 수문 맞은편까지 보수하였다. 거기에도 앞으로 튀어나온 성루가 있었다. 오벨에는 성전의 막일꾼들이 살고 있었다.	Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.
27	그 다음 잇닿은 그만한 부분을 보수한 것은 드고아 사람들이었다. 그들은 튀어나온 큰 성루에서 오벨 성곽까지 보수하였다.	After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.
28	말 다니는 문부터는 사제들이 저마다 제 집 앞 부분을 보수하였다.	From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.
29	그들 다음으로는 임멜의 아들 사독이 제 집 앞을 보수하였다. 그 다음으로는 동문 수위였던 스가니야의 아들 스마야가 보수하였다.	After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.
30	그 다음 잇닿은 그만한 부분을 보수한 것은 셀레미야의 아들 하나니야와 살랍의 여섯째 아들 하눈이었다. 그 다음 잇닿은 부분은 베레기야의 아들 므술람이 자기 방 앞을 보수하였다.	After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.
31	그 다음으로 금장이 말기야가 성전 막일꾼들과 상인들의 숙소가 있는 데까지 보수하였는데, 성 모퉁이 다락이 있는 데까지 보수하였으므로 그 집에서는 점호문이 마주보였다.	After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.
32	성 모퉁이 다락에서 양 다니는 문까지의 사이는 금장이들과 상인들이 보수하였다.	And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
33	산발랏의 방해를 물리치다 우리가 성을 쌓고 있다는 소식을 들은 산발랏은 화가 나서 견딜 수 없었다. 그는 유다인들을 우습게 보고 있었기 때문에,	—
34	자기 일족들과 사마리아의 세력가들 앞에서 빈정거리는 소리를 하였다. "유다 놈들, 그 다 말라빠진 것들이 무얼 한다는 거지? 누가 내버려둘 줄 알고? 제사를 드린다고? 하루에 일을 끝낸다고? 불타 버린 잿더미 속에서 돌들을 꺼내 쓴다고?"	—
35	암몬 사람 토비야가 옆에 있다가 맞장구를 쳤다. "아무리 성을 쌓아보아야, 여우만 올라가도 와르르 무너질 것입니다."	—
36	우리 하느님이여, 우리가 이렇게 조롱을 받고 있는데 그 소리가 들리지 않으십니까? 저들이 퍼붓는 악담을 저들에게 도로 쏟아주십시오. 남의 나라에 끌려가서 수모를 받게 해주십시오.	—
37	남은 성을 쌓는데 약만 올리는 것들입니다. 그 못된 죄를 덮어주지 마시고 지워버리지 마십시오!	—
38	우리 백성들은 기어이 해내고야 말겠다는 마음으로 계속 쌓아 올렸다. 성벽은 허물어지는 일 없이 반쯤 올라갔다.	—
