| 1 | ယောသပ်သည်လည်း ဝန်စာရေးကိုခေါ်၍ ထိုသူတို့အိတ်များ၌ ရိက္ခာပါနိုင်သမျှ အပြည့်ထည့်လော့။ လူတိုင်းဆိုင်သောငွေကို မိမိတို့အိတ်ဝတွင်၎င်း၊ | And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man’s money in his sack’s mouth. |
| 2 | စပါးအဘိုးငွေနှင့် ငါငွေဖလားကို၊ အငယ်ဆုံးသော သူ၏အိတ်ဝတွင်၎င်း ထည့်ထားလော့ဟု မှာသည် အတိုင်း ဝန်စာရေးပြုလေ၏။ | And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack’s mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. |

| 4 | မြို့ပြင်သို့ရောက်၍ မဝေးသေးသောအခါ၊ ယောသပ်သည် ဝန်စာရေးကိုခေါ်၍၊ ထိုသူတို့ကို မြန်မြန် လိုက်လော့။ မှီသောအခါ သင်တို့သည် ကျေးဇူးကို မကောင်းသောအမှုနှင့် အဘယ်ကြောင့်ဆပ်ကြသနည်း။ | And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good? |
| 5 | ငါ့သခင်သောက်သော ဖလားမဟုတ်လော။ ထူးဆန်းသော ဉာဏ်ကိုဖြစ်စေတတ်သော ဖလားမဟုတ် လော။ သင်တို့ပြုသော ဤအမှုသည် မကောင်းပါတကား ဟု ပြောဆိုလော့ဟု မှာသည်အတိုင်း၊ | Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing. |
| 6 | ဝန်စာရေးလိုက်၍ မှီသောအခါ ပြောဆိုလေ၏။ သူတို့ကလည်း ဤစကားကို သခင်သည် အဘယ်ကြောင့် ပြောပါသနည်း။ | And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words. |
| 7 | ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်တို့နှင့် ထိုသို့သော အမှုဝေးပါ စေသတည်း။ | And they said unto him, Wherefore saith my lord these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing: |
| 8 | ယမန်ကအိတ်ဝတွင် တွေ့သောငွေကို၊ ခါနာန် ပြည်မှ ကိုယ်တော်ထံသို့တဖန်ဆောင်ခဲ့ပါပြီ။ သို့ဖြစ်လျှင် ကိုယ်တော်၏သခင်အိမ်၌ ရွှေငွေကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် ခိုးရပါအံ့နည်း။ | Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord’s house silver or gold? |
| 9 | ကိုယ်တော်၏ကျွန်တို့တွင် မည်သူ၌တွေ့လျှင်၊ ထိုသူကိုသေစေ။ ကျွန်တော်တို့သည်လည်း သခင်၏ကျွန်ခံ ကြပါမည်ဟု ဆိုကြ၏။ | With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord’s bondmen. |
| 10 | ဝန်စာရေးကလည်း၊ သင်တို့စကားအတိုင်း ဖြစ်စေ။ သို့သော်လည်း မည်သူ၌တွေ့လျှင်၊ ထိုသူသည် ငါ့ကျွန်ဖြစ်စေ။ သင်တို့မူကား အပြစ်လွှတ်ကြစေဟု ဆိုသော်၊ | And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless. |
| 11 | ထိုသူအပေါင်းတို့သည် အသီးအသီး မိမိတို့အိတ် များကို မြေ၌ချ၍ဖွင့်ကြ၏။ | Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and opened every man his sack. |
| 12 | ဝန်စာရေးသည်လည်၊ အကြီးမှစ၍ အငယ်တိုင်အောင်ရှာသဖြင့် ဗင်္ယာမိန်အိတ်၌ ဖလားကိုတွေ့၏။ | And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack. |
| 13 | ထိုအခါ သူတို့သည် မိမိအဝတ်ကိုဆုတ်၍ လူတိုင်းမိမိမြည်းပေါ်မှာ ဝန်ကို တင်ပြန်သဖြင့် မြို့သို့ ပြန်သွားကြ၏။ | Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city. |
| 14 | ယုဒနှင့်ညီအစ်ကိုတို့သည်း ယောသပ်အိမ် သို့ရောက်၍၊ သူသည်အိမ်၌ရှိသေးသဖြင့်၊ သူ့ရှေ့မှာ ပြပ်ဝပ်လျက် နေကြ၏။ | And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph’s house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground. |
| 15 | ယောသပ်ကလည်း၊ သင်တို့သည် အဘယ်သို့ ပြုပြီးသနည်း။ ငါကဲ့သို့သောယောက်ျားသည် ထူးဆန်း သောဉာဏ်ရှိကြောင်းကို သင်တို့ မသိကြသလောဟု ဆို၏။ | And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine? |
| 16 | ယုဒကလည်း၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့သည် သခင်အား အဘယ်စကားဖြင့် လျှောက်ရပါအံ့နည်း။ အဘယ်သို့ ပြောရပါအံ့နည်း။ ဤအမှုနှင့် အဘယ်သို့လွတ်နိုင်ပါအံ့နည်း။ ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန်တော်တို့၏အပြစ်ကို ဘုရားသခင် စစ်၍ တွေ့တော်မူပြီ။ အကြင်သူ၌ ဖလားတော်ကိုတွေ့၏။ ထိုသူမှစ၍ ကျွန်တော်တို့ ရှိသမျှသည် သခင်၏ ကျွန်ဖြစ်ကြပါ၏ဟု လျှောက်လေသော်၊ | And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord’s servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found. |
| 17 | ထိုသို့ငါမပြုရ။ အကြင်သူ၏လက်၌ ငါ့ဖလားကို တွေ့၏။ ထိုသူသည် ငါ့ကျွန်ဖြစ်စေ။ သင်တို့မူကား အဘထံသို့ ငြိမ်ဝပ်စွာသွားကြလောဟု စီရင်လေ၏။ | And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father. |
| 18 | ထိုအခါ ယုဒသည်ချဉ်းကပ်လျက်၊ သခင်ဘုရား၊ ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်သည် စကားတခွန်းဖြင့် နားတော်လျှောက်ရသော အခွင့်ကို ပေးတော်မူပါ။ ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်၌ အမျက်ထွက်တော်မမူပါနှင့်။ ကိုယ် တော်သည် ဖါရောဘုရင်ကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်တော်မူ၏။ | Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord’s ears, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh. |
| 19 | သခင်က၊ သင်တို့သည် အဘရှိသလော။ ညီရှိသလောဟု ကျွန်တော်တို့အား မေးတော်မူလျှင်၊ | My lord asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or a brother? |
| 20 | ကျွန်တော်တို့က၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့အဘ အသက် ကြီးသောသူရှိပါ၏။ အဘအသက်ကြီးစဉ်အခါ ရသော သားငယ်တယောက်ရှိပါ၏။ သူ၏အစ်ကိုသေပါပြီ။ သူ့အမိဘွားသောသားတို့တွင် သူတယောက်တည်း ကျန်ရစ်ပါ၏။ ထိုကြောင့် သူ၏အဘသည် သူ့ကို ချစ်ပါ၏ဟု သခင်အား ပြန်လျှောက်လေသော်၊ | And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him. |
| 21 | ကိုယ်တော်က၊ ထိုသူကိုငါကြည့်ရှုရအောင် ငါ့ထံသို့ခေါ်ခဲ့ကြဟု ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်တို့အား မိန့်တော် မူ၏။ | And thou saidst unto thy servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him. |
| 22 | ကျွန်တော်တို့က ထိုသူငယ်ကို အဘနှင့်မခွါနိုင်ပါ။ အဘနှင့်ခွါလျှင် အဘသေပါလိမ့်မည်ဟု သခင်အား လျှောက်လေသော်လည်း၊ | And we said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die. |
| 23 | ကိုယ်တော်က၊ သင်တို့ညီမပါလျှင် သင်တို့သည် ငါ့မျက်နှာကိုနောက်တဖန်မမြင်ရဟု ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်တို့ အား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ | And thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more. |
| 24 | ထိုနောက်ကျွန်တော်တို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန် တည်းဟူသော ကျွန်တော်တို့ အဘထံသို့ပြန်၍ ရောက် သောအခါ၊ သခင်စကားတော်ကို အဘအား ပြန်ကြားပါ၏။ | And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord. |
| 25 | ကျွန်တော်တို့အဘကလည်း၊ တဖန်သွား၍ ငါတို့ စားစရာ အနည်းငယ်ကို ဝယ်ကြပါဟုဆိုသောအခါ၊ | And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food. |
| 26 | ကျွန်တော်တို့က၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် မသွားနိုင်ပါ။ ညီပါလျှင်သွားနိုင်ပါ၏။ ညီမပါလျှင် ထိုသူ၏ မျက်နှာကိုမမြင်ရပါဟု ပြန်ပြောပါ၏။ | And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man’s face, except our youngest brother be with us. |
| 27 | ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်၊ ကျွန်တော်အဘကလည်း၊ သင်တို့သိသည့်အတိုင်း ငါ့မယားသည် ငါ့အား သား နှစ်ယောက်ကို ဘွား၏။ | And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bare me two sons: |
| 28 | တယောက်ကား ငါ့ထံမှ ထွက်သွား၏။ အကယ်စင်စစ် သူသည် အပိုင်းအပိုင်း ကိုက်ဖြတ်ခြင်းကို ခံရပါပြီ တကားဟု ငါဆိုရ၏။ ထိုကာလမှစ၍ သူ့ကိုငါမမြင်ရ။ | And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since: |
| 29 | ဤသူကိုလည်း ငါ့ထံမှယူသွား၍ သူ၌ဘေး ရောက်လျှင်၊ သင်တို့သည် ငါ့ဆံပင်ဖြူကို ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်း နှင့်တကွ မရဏာနိုင်ငံသို့ သက်ရောက်စေကြလိမ့်မည်ဟု ကျွန်တော်တို့အား ဆိုပါ၏။ | And if ye take this also from me, and mischief befall him, ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. |
| 30 | သို့ဖြစ်၍ ကျွန်တော်သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်၊ ကျွန်တော်အဘထံသို့ရောက်သောအခါ၊ သူငယ်မပါလျှင် အဘ၏အသက်သည် သူငယ်၏အသက်၌ မှီလျက်ရှိသော ကြောင့်၊ | Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad’s life; |
| 31 | သူငယ်မရှိသည်ကို မြင်သောအခါ အဘသေပါလိမ့်မည်။ ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်တော်တို့သည်၊ ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်တည်းဟူသော ကျွန်တော်တို့အဘ ဆံပင်ဖြူကို ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်းနှင့်တကွ မရဏာနိုင်ငံသို့ သက်ရောက်စေကြပါ လိမ့်မည်။ | It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave. |
| 32 | ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန်က၊ အကျွန်ုပ်သည် တဖန်သူငယ် ကို အဘထံသို့ ပြန်၍မဆောင်ခဲ့လျှင်၊ အစဉ်မပြတ် အဘရှေ့မှာ အပြစ်ကိုခံပါစေဟုဆိုသဖြင့်၊ အဘထံမှာ သူငယ်၏အာမခံ ဖြစ်ပါ၏။ | For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever. |
| 33 | သို့ဖြစ်၍ ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်သည် သူငယ်အတွက် နေရစ်၍ သခင်ထံကျွန်ခံရသောအခွင့်၊ သူငယ်ကိုကား အစ်ကိုတို့နှင့်အတူ သွားရသောအခွင့်ကို ပေးတော်မူ ပါ။ | Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren. |
| 34 | သူငယ်သည် ကျွန်တော်တို့မပါလျှင်၊ ကျွန်တော် အဘထံသို့ အဘယ်သို့ ကျွန်တော်သွားနိုင်ပါမည်နည်း။ သို့ပြုလျှင် ကျွန်တော်အဘ၌ ရောကလတံ့သော ဘေးဥပဒ်ကို ကျွန်တော်မြင်ရပါလိမ့်မည်တကားဟု လျှောက် လေ၏။ | For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father. |
