| 1 | အာဗြဟံလက်ထက် ထိုပြည်၌ဖြစ်ဘူးသော အစာခေါင်းပါးခြင်းမှတပါး၊ နောက်တဖန် အစာခေါင်း ပါးခြင်း ရှိပြန်သည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ဣဇာက်သည် ဖိလိတ္တိမင်းကြီး အဘိမလက်နေရာဂေရာမြို့သို့ သွားလေ၏။ | And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. |
| 2 | ထာဝရဘုရားသည်လည်း သူ့အားထင်ရှား၍၊ သင်သည် အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်သို့မသွားနှင့်၊ ငါပြောလတံ့သော ပြည်၌နေလော့။ | And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: |
| 3 | ယခုဤပြည်၌ တည်းခို၍နေလော့။ သင့်ဘက် မှာ ငါနေ၍ ကောင်းကြီးပေးမည်။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ သင်နှင့်သင်၏အမျိုးအနွယ်အား ဤပြည်ရှိသမျှတို့ကို ငါပေးမည်။ သင်၏အဘအာဗြဟံအား ငါကျိန်ဆိုသော စကားရှိသည်အတိုင်းငါပြုမည်။ | Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; |
| 4 | သင်၏အမျိုးအနွယ်ကို ကောင်းကင်ကြယ်ကဲ့သို့ များပြားစေမည်။ သင်၏အမျိုးအနွယ်အားလည်း၊ ဤပြည် ရှိသမျှတို့ကို ငါပေးမည်။ သင်၏အမျိုးအနွယ် အားဖြင့်လည်း၊ လူမျိုးအပေါင်းတို့သည် ကောင်းကြီး မင်္ဂလာကို ခံရကြလိမ့်မည်။ | And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; |
| 5 | အကြောင်းမူကား၊ အာဗြဟံသည် ငါ့စကားကို နားထောင်၍၊ ငါစီရင်မှာထားသော ပညတ်တရား အမျိုးမျိုးတို့ကို စောင့်ရှောက်သတည်း ဟုမိန့်တော်မူ၏။ | Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. |
| 6 | ဣသရေလဇာက်သည် ဂေရာမြို့၌ နေစဉ်တွင်၊-မြို့သားတို့သည် သူ၏မယားအကြောင်းကို မေးသော အခါ၊ ရေဗက္ကသည် လှသောအဆင်းအရောင် ရှိသောကြောင့်၊ | And Isaac dwelt in Gerar: |
| 7 | ဤပြည်သား ယောက်ျားတို့သည် သူ့အကြောင်းကြောင့် ငါ့ကို သတ်မည်ဟုစိုးရိမ်၍၊ သူ သည် ငါ့မယားဖြစ်သည်ဟု မပြောမဆိုဝံ့၊ ငါ့နှမဖြစ်သည် ဟု ပြောဆို၏။ | And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon. |
| 8 | ထိုမြို့၌ ကာလအင်တန်ကြာနေပြီးမှ၊ တနေ့သ၌၊ ဣဇာက်သည် မိမိမယားရေဗက္ကနှင့် ကစားသည်။ ဖိလိတ္တိမင်းကြီးအဘိမလက်သည် ပြတင်းပေါက်ဝက ကြည့်မြင်လျှင်၊ | And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. |
| 9 | ဣဇာက်ကိုခေါ်၍၊ ထိုမိန်းမသည်၊ အကယ်စင် စစ် သင်၏မယားဖြစ်၏။ သို့ရာတွင်၊ သူသည် ငါ့နှမဖြစ်၏ဟု အဘယ်ကြောင့် သင်ပြောရ သနည်းဟုမေးသော်၊ ဣဇာက်က၊ သူ့အတွက်ကြောင့် ကျွန်ုပ်သေမည်ကို စိုးရိမ်ပါသည်ဟု လျှောက်ဆို၏။ | And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her. |
| 10 | အဘိမလက်မင်းကလည်း၊ ငါတို့၌ သင်ပြုသော အမှုကား အဘယ်သို့နည်း။ တစုံတယောက်သော သူသည်၊ သင်၏မယားနှင့် အမှတ်တမဲ့သင့်နေလျှင်၊ ငါတို့ ခေါင်းပေါ်မှာ သင်သည် အပြစ်ရောက်စေလိမ့်မည် တကားဟု ဆိုပြီးမှ၊ | And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us. |
| 11 | ဤလင်မယားကို ပြစ်မှားသောသူသည် ဆက်ဆက်အသေခံရမည်ဟု မိမိလူအပေါင်းတို့ကို မှာထားသနည်း။ | And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death. |
| 12 | ထိုပြည်၌ ဣဇာက်သည် မျိုးစေ့ကိုကြဲ၍၊ တနှစ် ခြင်းတွင် အဆတရာသော အသီးအနှံကို ရလေ၏။ ထာဝရဘုရားသည်လည်း၊ ကောင်းကြီးပေးတော်မူသဖြင့်၊ | Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. |
| 13 | သူသည်ကြီးပွါး၍၊ အလွန်စည်းစိမ်းကြီးသည် တိုင်အောင် တိုးတက်လျက်၊ စီးပွါးဥစ္စာများပြားစွာ ဖြစ်လေ၏။ | And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: |
| 14 | သိုးစု၊ နွားစုများ၊ ကျွန်များနှင့်ပြည့်စုံ ကြွယ်ဝ၏။ ထိုကြောင့်၊ ဖိလိတ္တိလူတို့သည် သူ့ကိုငြူစူကြ၏။ | For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. |
| 15 | အဘအာဗြဟံလက်ထက်၌၊ အဘ၏ကျွန်တို့ တူးသော ရေတွင်းရှိသမျှတို့ကို မြေနှင့်ဖို့ပိတ်ကြ၏။ | For all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. |
| 16 | အဘိမလက်မင်းကလည်း၊ သင်သည် ငါ့တို့ထက် တန်ခိုးကြီး၏။ ငါတို့ထံမှထွက်သွားလော့ဟု၊ ဣဇာက်ကို အမိန့်ရှိသောကြောင့်၊ | And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. |
| 17 | ဣဇာက်သည် ထိုမြို့မှ ထွက်သွားပြီးလျှင်၊ ဂေရာချိုင့်၌တဲကို ဆောက်၍နေလေ၏။ | And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. |
| 18 | ထိုအခါ ဣဇာက်သည်၊ အဘအာဗြဟံ ကျွန်တို့ တူး၍၊ အဘသေသောနောက်၊ ဖိလိတ္တိလူတို့ဖို့သော ရေတွင်းတို့ကို တူးဘော်ပြန်၍၊ အထက်က အဘသမုတ် သော အမည်ဖြင့် သမုတ်လေ၏။ | And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them. |
| 19 | ဣဇာက်ကျွန်တို့လည်း၊ ချိုင့်ထဲ၌တူး၍ စမ်း ရေတွင်းကို တွေ့ကြ၏။ | And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water. |
| 20 | ဂေရာအမျိုးသား နွားကျောင်းတို့ကလည်း၊ ဤရေသည် ငါတို့ရေဖြစ်၏ဟု၊ ဣဇာက်၏နွားကျောင်းတို့ နှင့် လုယက်ပြောဆိုကြ၏။ ထိုသို့အချင်းချင်းလုယက် ကြသောကြောင့်၊ ထိုရေတွင်းကို ဧသက်အမည်ဖြင့်မှည့် လေ၏။ | And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac’s herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him. |
| 21 | နောက်တဖန် အခြားသောရေတွင်းကို တူးပြန် ကြ၏။ ထိုရေတွင်းကိုလည်း တဖန်လုကြသောကြောင့်၊ သိတနအမည်ဖြင့် မှည့်လေ၏။ | And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah. |
| 22 | ထိုအရပ်မှ နေရာပြောင်း၍၊ အခြားသော ရေတွင်းကို တူးကြ၏။ ထိုရေတွင်းကို အဘယ်သူမျှ မလုယက်သောကြောင့်၊ ငါတို့ နေစရာအခွင့်ကို ယခု ထာဝရဘုရားပေးတော်မူပြီ ဖြစ်၍၊ ဤပြည်၌ ငါတို့သည် စီးပွါးများကြလိမ့်မည်ဟုဆိုလျက်၊ ထိုရေတွင်းကို ရဟော ဘုတ်အမည်ဖြင့် မှည့်သတည်း။ | And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land. |
| 23 | တဖန် ထိုအရပ်မှ ဗေရရှေဘအရပ်သို့ ပြောင်း လေ၏။ | And he went up from thence to Beer–sheba. |
| 24 | ထိုနေ့ညမှာ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ထင်ရှား၍၊ ငါသည် သင်၏အဘ အာဗြဟံ၏ ဘုရားဖြစ်၏။ မစိုးရိမ် နျင့်။ ငါသည်သင့်ဘက်မှာရှိ၏။ ငါသည်ကောင်းကြီးပေး မည်။ ငါ၏ကျွန်အာဗြဟံအတွက်၊ သင်၏အမျိုးအနွယ်ကို ငါများပြားစေမည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ | And the Lord appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake. |
| 25 | ထိုအရပ်၌ ယဇ်ပုလ္လင်ကို တည်၍၊ ထာဝရ ဘုရား၏ နာမတော်ကို မဌာနာပြု၏။ တဲကိုလည်း တည်ဆောက်၍၊ ကျွန်တို့သည် ရေတွင်းကို တူးကြ၏။ | And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the Lord, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac’s servants digged a well. |
| 26 | ထိုအခါ အဘိမလက်မင်းသည်၊ အဆွေတော် အဟုဇာတ်နှင့် ဗိုလ်ချုပ်မင်းဖိကောလတို့ကို ခေါ်၍၊ ဂေရာမြို့မှ ဣဇာက်ရှိရာသို့သွား၏။ | Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army. |
| 27 | ဣဇာက်ကလည်း၊ သင်တို့သည် ငါ့ကို မြင်ပျင်း၍ နှင်ထုတ်ပြီးမှ၊ အဘယ်ကြောင့် လာကြသနည်းဟု မေးလျှင်၊ | And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you? |
| 28 | ထိုသူတို့က၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင့်ဘက်မှာ ရှိတော်မူကြောင်းကို၊ ငါတို့အမှန် သိမြင်သည်ဖြစ်၍၊ | And they said, We saw certainly that the Lord was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee; |
| 29 | ငါတို့သည် သင့်ကိုမထိမခိုက်၊ ကျေးဇူးကိုသာပြု၍၊ ငြိမ်ဝပ်စွာလွှတ် လိုက်သည်နည်းတူ၊ သင်သည်ငါတို့ကို အပြစ်မပြုရဟု၊ ငါတို့တဘက်၊ သင့်တဘက်၊ နှစ်ဘက်သား တို့သည်၊ သစ္စာဂတိထား၍ မိဿဟာယဖွဲ့ကြစို့။ သင် သည် ထာဝရဘုရားကောင်းကြီးပေးတော်မူသောသူ ဖြစ်ပါ၏ဟု ဆိုကြလေသော်၊ | That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the Lord. |
| 30 | ဣဇာက်သည်၊ သူတို့အဘို့ စားသောက်ပွဲကို လုပ်၍၊ အတူစားသောက်ကြ၏။ | And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink. |
| 31 | နံနက်စောစောထ၍၊ အချင်းချင်းတဦးနှင့် တဦး သစ္စာပြုလိုက်ပြီးမှ၊ ဣဇက်သည်။ ဣဇာက်သည် သူ့တို့ကို လွှတ်လိုက်၍၊ သူတို့သည် ငြိမ်ဝပ်စွာသွားရကြ၏။ | And they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace. |
| 32 | ထိုနေ့၌ပင် ဣဇာက်ကျွန်တို့သည် လာ၍၊ မိမိတို့ တူးသောတွင်း၌ ရေတွေ့ကြောင်းကို ပြောဆိုကြလျှင်၊ | And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac’s servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said unto him, We have found water. |
| 33 | ထိုရေတွင်းကို ရေဘအမည်ဖြင့် မှည့်လေ၏။ ထိုကြောင့် ထိုအရပ်၌ တည်သောမြို့ကို ဗေရရှေဘမြို့ဟု ယနေ့တိုင်အောင်တွင်လေသတည်း။ | And he called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beer–sheba unto this day. |
| 34 | ဧသောသည် အသက်လေးဆယ်ရှိသောအခါ၊ ဟိတ္တိအမျိုးသား ဗေရိ၏သမီးယုဒိတ်၊ ဟိတ္တိအမျိုးသား ဧလုန်၏သမီး ဗာရှမတ်တို့နှင့် အိမ်ထောင်လေ၏။ | And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: |
| 35 | ထိုမိန်းမတို့သည် ဣဇာက်နှင့်ရေဗက္က၌ စိတ် နှလုံးပူပန်စရာအကြောင်းဖြစ်သတည်း။ | Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah. |
