| 1 | ဉာဏ်ပညာသည်အိမ်တိုင်ခုနစ်တိုင်ကိုခုတ်၍၊ မိမိနေရာအိမ်ကို ဆောက်လေပြီ။ | Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: |
| 2 | သူ၏အကောင်များကိုသတ်၍၊ စပျစ်ရည်ကို ဘော်ပြီးမှ စားပွဲကို ခင်းလေပြီ။ | She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. |
| 3 | ကျွန်မတို့ကိုစေလွှတ်၍၊ မြို့တွင် အမြင့်ဆုံးသော အရပ်တို့၌ ကြွေးကြော်လေသည်ကား၊ | She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city, |
| 4 | ဉာဏ်တိမ်သောသူသည် ဤအရပ်သို့ဝင်စေ။ အိုပညာမရှိသောသူ၊ | Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, |
| 5 | လာလော့။ ငါ့မုန့်ကိုစားလော့။ ငါဘော်သော စပျစ်ရည်ကို သောက်လော့။ | Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. |
| 6 | မိုက်သောသူကို ရှောင်၍ အသက်ချမ်း သာရ လော့။ ပညာလမ်းသို့လိုက်လော့ဟုဆိုသတည်း။ | Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. |
| 7 | မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသောသူကို ဆုံးမသောသူသည် အရှက်ကွဲခြင်းကို၎င်း၊ လူဆိုးကိုအပြစ်ပြသော သူသည် ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းကို၎င်း ခံရလိမ့်မည်။ | He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. |
| 8 | မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသော သူကိုမဆုံးမနှင့်။ သင့်ကို မုန်းလိမ့်မည်။ ပညာရှိကိုအပြစ်ပြလော့။ သူသည် သင့်ကို ချစ်လိမ့်မည်။ | Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. |
| 9 | ပညာရှိသော သူကိုဆုံးမလျှင်၊ သူသည် သာ၍ ပညာရှိလိမ့်မည်။ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူကို သွန်သင်လျှင်၊ သူသည် သိပ္ပံအတတ်တိုးပွါးလိမ့်မည်။ | Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. |
| 10 | ထာဝရဘုရားကို ကြောက်ရွံ့သော သဘော သည် ပညာ၏မူလအမြစ် ဖြစ်၏။ သန့်ရှင်းတော်မူသော ဘုရားကိုသိကျွမ်းသော သဘောသည် ဉာဏ်ဖြစ်၏။ | The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. |
| 11 | အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ငါ့ကိုအမှီပြု၍၊ သင်၏ နေ့ရက်ကာလနှင့် အသတ်အပိုင်းအခြား နှစ်ပေါင်း ကာလ တိုးပွါးလိမ့်မည်။ | For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. |
| 12 | သင်သည်ပညာရှိလျှင်၊ ကိုယ်တိုင်အကျိုးကို ခံရ လိမ့်မည်။ မထီမဲ့ပြုလျှင် ကိုယ်တိုင်သာအပြစ်ကို ခံရလိမ့် မည်။ | If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it. |
| 13 | မိုက်သောမိန်းမသည် စကားသံကျယ်၍ ဉာဏ် တိမ်သဖြင့် အလျှင်းမသိတတ်။ | A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing. |
| 14 | မိမိအိမ်တံခါးနားတွင် မြို့မြင့်ရာအရပ် အနေအထိုင်ပေါ်မှာ ထိုင်လျက်၊ | For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, |
| 15 | လမ်း၌တည့်တည့် ခရီးသွားသော သူတို့ကို ခေါ်၍၊ | To call passengers who go right on their ways: |
| 16 | ဉာဏ်တိမ်သော သူသည် ဤအရပ်သို့ဝင်စေ။ အိုပညာမရှိသောသူ၊ | Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, |
| 17 | ခိုးသောရေသည် ချို၏။ တိတ်ဆိတ်စွာစား သောမုန့်လည်း မြိန်သည်ဟု ဆိုတတ်၏။ | Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. |
| 18 | ထိုအရပ်၌ သင်္ချိုင်းသားရှိကြောင်း၊ ထိုမိန်းမ၏ ဧည့်သည်တို့သည် မရဏနိုင်ငံအနက်ဆုံး၌နေကြောင်း ကို ထိုယောက်ျားသည်မသိမမှတ်။ | But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell. |
