| 1 | ကောင်းသောအသရေကို များစွာသော ဥစ္စာ ထက်သာ၍ ရွေးစရာကောင်း၏။ သူတပါးစုံမက်ခြင်း ကျေးဇူးသည် ရွှေငွေထက်သာ၍ ကောင်း၏။ | A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. |
| 2 | ငွေရတတ်သောသူနှင့် ဆင်းရဲသောသူတို့သည် တွေ့ကြံကြ၏။ ထိုသူအပေါင်းတို့ကို ထာဝရဘုရား ဖန်ဆင်းတော်မူ၏။ | The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all. |
| 3 | သမ္မာသတိရှိသောသူသည် အမှုကိုမြော်မြင်၍ ပုန်းနေတတ်၏။ ဉာဏ်တိမ်သောသူမူကား၊ အစဉ် အတိုင်းသွား၍ အမှုနှင့်တွေ့တတ်၏။ | A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. |
| 4 | စိတ်နှိမ့်ချခြင်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ ခြင်းကျေးဇူးကြောင့် စည်းစိမ်၊ ဂုဏ်အသရေ၊ အသက်ကို ရတတ်၏။ | By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life. |
| 5 | သဘောကောက်သောလူ သွားရာလမ်း၌၊ ဆူး ပင်များနှင့် ကျော့ကွင်းများရှိတတ်၏။ မိမိစိတ်ဝိညာဉ်ကို စောင့်ရှောက်သောသူမူကား ဝေးစွာ ရှောင်သွားလိမ့်မည်။ | Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them. |
| 6 | သူငယ်သွားရာလမ်းဝ၌ ဆုံးမသွန်သင်လော့။ သို့ပြုလျှင် သူသည်အိုသောအခါ ထိုလမ်းမှမလွှဲ၊ လိုက် သွားလိမ့်မည်။ | Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. |

| 8 | ဒုစရိုက်မျိုးစေ့ကို ကြဲသောသူသည် ဒုက္ခစပါးကို ရိတ်ရမည်။ ဒေါသစိတ်ရှိ၍ ဒဏ်ပေးနိုင်သော တန်ခိုး လည်း ပျောက်လိမ့်မည်။ | He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail. |
| 9 | ကရုဏာမျက်စိရှိသောသူသည် ဆင်းရဲသော သူတို့ကိုကျွေးသောကြောင့် မင်္ဂလာရှိလိမ့်မည်။ ရန်တွေ့ ခြင်းနှင့်ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းလည်း ငြိမ်းလိမ့်မည်။ | He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. |
| 10 | မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသောသူကိုနှင်ထုတ်လော့။ သို့ပြု လျှင် ရန်မာန်လည်း ထွက်သွားလိမ့်မည်။ ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းနှင့် ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းလည်း ငြိမ်းလိမ့်မည်။ | Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease. |
| 11 | စိတ်နှလုံးဖြူစင်ခြင်းကို နှစ်သက်သောသူသည် လျောက်ပတ်သောစကားကို ပြောတတ်၍၊ ရှင်ဘုရင်နှင့် မိတ်ဆွေဖွဲ့ရလိမ့်မည်။ | He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend. |
| 12 | ထာဝရဘုရား၏ မျက်စိတော်သည် ပညာ အတတ်ကို စောင့်၏။ ပြစ်မှားသောသူ၏စကားကိုကား ချေတော်မူ၏။ | The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor. |
| 13 | ပျင်းရိသောသူက၊ အိမ်ပြင်မှာခြင်္သေ့ရှိ၏။ လမ်း သို့ ထွက်လျှင် ငါသေလိမ့်မည်ဟု ဆိုတတ်၏။ | The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. |
| 14 | အမျိုးပျက်သော မိန်းမ၏နှုတ်သည် နက်သော မြေတွင်းဖြစ်၏။ ထာဝရဘုရားစက်ဆုပ်ရွံရှာတော်မူ သော သူသည်ထိုမြေတွင်းထဲသို့ ကျလိမ့်မည်။ | The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the Lord shall fall therein. |
| 15 | မိုက်သောသဘောသည် သူငယ်၏ စိတ်နှလုံး ထဲမှာ ထုပ်ထားလျက်ရှိ၏။ သို့သော်လည်း၊ ဆုံးမသော ကြိမ်လုံးသည် ထိုသဘောကို ဝေးစွာ နှင်တတ်၏။ | Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. |
| 16 | ကိုယ်စီးပွါးအဘို့ ဆင်းရဲသားတို့ကို ညှဉ်းဆဲ သောသူနှင့်၊ ငွေရတတ်သော သူတို့အား ပေးသောသူ သည် ဆင်းရဲခြင်းသို့ အမှန်ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။ | He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want. |
| 17 | သင်၏နားကိုညွှတ်၍ ပညာရှိစကားကို နား ထောင်လော့။ ငါ့ပညာအတတ်ကိုလည်း စိတ်နှလုံး၌ စွဲလမ်းလော့။ | Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge. |
| 18 | သင်၏နှလုံး၌ သွင်းမိနိုင်လျှင် သာယာသော အကျိုးရှိလိမ့်မည်။ သင်၏နှုတ်၌လည်း အစဉ်အသင့်ရှိ လိမ့်မည်။ | For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips. |
| 19 | သင်သည်ထာဝရဘုရား၌ ခိုလှုံမည်အကြောင်း၊ သင့်ကိုယ်တိုင် ကိုယနေ့ငါသွန်သင်၏။ | That thy trust may be in the Lord, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee. |
| 20 | သင်သည် သမ္မာတရားစကားစစ်ကိုသိမည် အကြောင်းနှင့်၊ သင့်ထံသို့ စေလွှတ်သောသူတို့အား၊ သမ္မာ စကားကို ပြန်ပြောနိုင်မည်အကြောင်း သတိပေးလျက်၊ ပညာအတတ်ကို ပြသလျက်၊ ထူးဆန်းသော အရာတို့ကို ငါရေး၍ ပေးလိုက်သည်မဟုတ်လော။ | Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, |
| 21 | သင်သည် သမ္မာတရားစကားစစ်ကိုသိမည် အကြောင်းနှင့်၊ သင့်ထံသို့ စေလွှတ်သောသူတို့အား၊ သမ္မာ စကားကို ပြန်ပြောနိုင်မည်အကြောင်း သတိပေးလျက်၊ ပညာအတတ်ကို ပြသလျက်၊ ထူးဆန်းသော အရာတို့ကို ငါရေး၍ ပေးလိုက်သည်မဟုတ်လော။ | That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee? |
| 22 | ဆင်းရဲသောသူ၏ဆင်းရဲကိုထောက်၍၊ သူ၏ ဥစ္စာကို မလုမယူနှင့်။ ဒုက္ခိတသတ္တဝါကို မြို့တံခါးဝ၌ မညှဉ်းဆဲနှင့်။ | Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: |
| 23 | အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူတို့ အမှုကို စောင့်တော်မူမည်။ သူတို့ဥစ္စာကို လုယူသော သူတို့၏ အသက်ကို လုယူတော်မူမည်။ | For the Lord will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. |
| 24 | စိတ်တိုသောသူကို မိတ်ဆွေမဖွဲ့နှင့်။ အမျက် ပြင်းထန်သော သူနှင့် အတူမလိုက်နှင့်။ | Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: |
| 25 | လိုက်လျှင် သူ၏ထုံးစံဓလေ့တို့ကိုသင်၍၊ ကိုယ် အသက်ကျော့မိရာဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။ | Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul. |
| 26 | လက်ဝါးချင်းရိုက်သောလူစုနှင့် သူ့ကြွေးကို အာမခံသော လူစုထဲသို့ မဝင်နှင့်။ | Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts. |
| 27 | သင်၌ပေးရန်မရှိလျှင်၊ သင့်အိပ်ရာကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် ယူသွားစေချင်သနည်း။ | If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee? |
| 28 | ဘိုးဘေးစိုက်ဘူးသော မြေမှတ်တိုင်တို့ကို မရွှေ့ နှင့်။ | Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. |
| 29 | ဆောင်ရွက်စရာအမှုကိုကြိုးစား၍ ပြီးစီးစေ တတ်သောသူရှိသလော။ ထိုသူသည် သာမညလူ၏ အမှုကို မဆောင်ရွက်၊ ရှင်ဘုရင်၏ အမှုတော်ကို ဆောင် ရွက်၏။ | Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. |
