| 1 | နည်းဥပဒေကို ခံချင်သောသူသည် ပညာ အတတ်ကို နှစ်သက်၏။ ဆုံးမခြင်းကိုမုန်းသော သူမူကား၊ တိရစ္ဆာန်သဘောရှိ၏။ | Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. |
| 2 | သူတော်ကောင်းသည် ထာဝရဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ မျက်နှာရတတ်၏။ မကောင်းသောအကြံကို ကြံစည်သော သူမူကား၊ အပြစ်စီရင်တော်မူခြင်းကို ခံရ၏။ | A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. |
| 3 | လူသည်ဒုစရိုက်အားဖြင့် မြဲမြံခြင်းသို့ မရောက် ရာ။ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူ၏အမြစ်မူကား မရွေ့ရာ။ | A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved. |
| 4 | သီလရှိသော မိန်းမသည် မိမိလင်၌ ဦးရစ်သရဖူ ဖြစ်၏။ အရှက်ခွဲတတ်သော မိန်းမမူကား၊ လင်၏အရိုး တို့၌ ဆွေးမြေ့ခြင်းကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၏။ | A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. |
| 5 | ဖြောင့်မတ်သော သူ၏အကြံသည် ဖြောင့်၏။ မတရားသော သူပေးသော အကြံမူကား မုသာဖြစ်၏။ | The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. |
| 6 | မတရားသော သူ၏စကားသည် သူ့အသက်ကို သတ်ခြင်းငှါ စောင်းမြောင်းတတ်၏။ ဖြောင့်မတ်သော သူ၏နှုတ်မူကား၊ သူတပါးတို့ကို ကယ်နှုတ်တတ်၏။ | The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. |
| 7 | မတရားသော သူ၏အိမ်သည် ပြိုလဲပျောက် ပျက်ခြင်း၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူ၏ အိမ်မူကား၊ အမြဲတည် ခြင်းရှိတတ်၏။ | The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand. |
| 8 | လူသည်ဉာဏ်ပညာရှိသည်အတိုင်း ချီးမွမ်းခြင်း ကိုခံရ၏။ သဘောကောက်သော သူမူကား၊ မထီမဲ့မြင် ပြုခြင်းကို ခံရ၏။ | A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised. |
| 9 | စားစရာမရှိဘဲ ဝါကြွားသောသူထက်၊ အသရေ မရှိ၊ ကိုယ်အလုပ်ကိုလုပ်ရသော သူသည်သာ၍ ကောင်း၏။ | He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread. |
| 10 | ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူသည် မိမိတိရစ္ဆာန်အသက် ကို နှမြောတတ်၏။ မတရားသောသူမူကား၊ ကရုဏာ အရာ၌ပင် ကြမ်းကြုတ်တတ်၏။ | A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. |
| 11 | မိမိလယ်ယာကို လုပ်သောသူသည် ဝစွာစားရ ၏။ အချည်းနှီးသောအမှုကို စောင့်သောသူမူကား၊ ဉာဏ်ချို့တဲ့၏။ | He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding. |
| 12 | မတရားသောသူသည် လူဆိုးသုံးတတ်သော ကျော့ကွင်းကို အလိုရှိ၏။ ဖြောင့်မတ်သော သူ၏အမြစ် မူကား၊ အသီးကိုသီးတတ်၏။ | The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit. |
| 13 | စကားလွန်ကျူးရာတွင် ဆိုးသောကျော့ကွင်း ရှိ၏။ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူမူကား၊ အမှုထဲက ထမြောက် တတ်၏။ | The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. |
| 14 | လူသည်မိမိနှုတ်ခမ်းအသီးကို ဝစွာစားရ၏။ မိမိလက်လုပ်ရာ အကျိုးအပြစ်ကိုလည်း ခံရ၏။ | A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him. |
| 15 | မိုက်သောသူသည် မိမိပြုသောအမှုကို မှန်သည် ဟု ထင်တတ်၏။ အကြံပေးသောစကားကို နားထောင် သော သူမူကားပညာရှိ၏။ | The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. |
| 16 | မိုက်သောသူ၏ အမျက်ဒေါသသည် ချက်ခြင်း ထင်ရှားတတ်၏။ ပညာသတိရှိသောသူမူကား၊ ရှက်စရာ အမှုကို ဖုံးတတ်၏။ | A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. |
| 17 | မှန်သောစကားကို ပြောသောသူသည် ဖြောင့် မတ်ခြင်းတရား၊ မမှန်သောသက်သေကို ခံသောသူမူကား၊ မုသာတရားကို ပြသတတ်၏။ | He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. |
| 18 | သန်လျက်နှင့်ထိုးသကဲ့သို့ စကားပြောတတ် သော လူတချို့ရှိ၏။ ပညာရှိတို့၏ လျှာမူကား အနာကို ပင် ပျောက်စေတတ်၏။ | There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. |
| 19 | သစ္စာနှုတ်ခမ်းသည် အစဉ်အမြဲတည်၏။ မုသာ လျှာမူကား ခဏသာတည်၏။ | The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. |
| 20 | မကောင်းသောအကြံကို ကြံသောသူတို့၏ စိတ် ထဲမှာ လှည့်စားတတ်သောသဘောရှိ၏။ ရန်ပြေစေခြင်း ငှါ အကြံပေးသော သူတို့၌ကား၊ ဝမ်းမြောက်စရာ အကြောင်းရှိ၏။ | Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. |
| 21 | တရားသောသူ၌ အမင်္ဂလာမရောက်ရာ။ မတရားသော သူမူကား၊ အမင်္ဂလာနှင့်ပြည်ဝရလိမ့်မည်။ | There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief. |
| 22 | မုသာသုံးသောနှုတ်ခမ်းသည် ထာဝရဘုရား စက်ဆုပ်ရွံရှာတော်မူဘွယ်ဖြစ်၏။ သစ္စာတရားကို စောင့် ရှောက်သောသူတို့မူကား၊ နှစ်သက်တော်မူဘွယ် ဖြစ်ကြ ၏။ | Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight. |
| 23 | ပညာသတိရှိသောသူသည် မိမိသိသောအရာ ကိုပင် ထိမ်ဝှက်တတ်၏။ မိုက်သောသူမူကား၊ မိမိစိတ် အလိုအလျောက်မိုက်သောသဘောကို ထင်ရှားပြတတ် ၏။ | A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. |
| 24 | လုံ့လဝိရိယ ပြုသောသူသည် အစိုးရတတ်၏။ ပျင်းရိသောသူမူကား၊ အခွန်ပေးရ၏။ | The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. |
| 25 | ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်းအကြောင်းသည် ညှိုးငယ်စေ တတ်၏။ ကောင်းသောစကားမူကား၊ ရွှင်လန်းစေတတ် ၏။ | Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad. |
| 26 | ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူသည် အိမ်နီးချင်းကို လမ်း ပြတတ်၏။ မတရားသောသူလိုက်သော လမ်းမူကား၊ သူ့ကိုပင် လှည့်စားတတ်၏။ | The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. |
| 27 | ပျင်းရိသောသူသည် မုဆိုးလုပ်သော်လည်း၊ ဘမ်း ရသောအကောင်ကို ကင်၍မစားရ။ လုံ့လဝိရိယပြုသော သူ၏ ဥစ္စာမူကား၊ အဘိုးထိုက်ပေ၏။ | The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. |
| 28 | ဖြောင့်မတ်ခြင်းတရားလမ်း၌ သေဘေးမရှိ၊ အသက်ချမ်းသာလမ်း ဖြစ်၏။ | In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death. |
