| 1 | ထိုသို့မှန်လျှင်၊ အဘယ်သို့ပြောရမည်နည်း။ ကျေးဇူးတော်ပွါးများစေခြင်းငှါ အပြစ်တရားကို ကျင့်၍ နေရမည်လော။ | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? |
| 2 | ထိုသို့မနေရ။ အပြစ်တရားမှ စုတေ့သောသူတို့ သည် ထိုတရား၌ အဘယ်သို့ ရှင်ရဦးမည်နည်း။ | God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? |
| 3 | ယေရှုခရစ်၌ ဗတ္တိဇံကိုခံသောသူရှိသမျှတို့သည် အသေခံတော်မူခြင်း၌ ဗတ္တိဇံကိုခံကြသည်ဟု သင်တို့ မသိသလော။ | Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? |
| 4 | ထိုကြောင့်၊ အသေခံတော်မူခြင်း၌ ဗတ္တိဇံကို ခံသောအားဖြင့်၊ ထိုသခင်နှင့် အတူသင်္ဂြိုဟ်ခြင်းကို ခံကြ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ခရစ်တော်သည် ခမည်းတော်၏ ဘုန်းတန်ခိုးအားဖြင့် သေခြင်းမှထမြောက်တော် မူသည်နည်းတူ၊ ငါတို့သည်လည်း အသစ်သောအသက်၌ ကျင်လည်ရကြသတည်း။ | Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. |
| 5 | တနည်းကား၊ အသေခံတော်မူခြင်း၏ ပုံသဏ္ဌာန်ကိုဆောင်၍၊ ထိုသခင်နှင့်အတူ ငါတို့သည် စိုက်ပျိုးလျက်ရှိသည် မှန်လျှင်၊ ထမြောက်တော်မူခြင်း၏ ပုံသဏ္ဌာန်ကိုဆောင်၍ စိုက်ပျိုးလျက်ရှိကြလိမ့်မည်။ | For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: |
| 6 | ထိုမှတပါး၊ ငါတို့၏လူဟောင်းသည် ထိုသခင်နှင့်အတူ လက်ဝါးကပ်တိုင်မှာ အသေသတ်ခြင်းကို ခံပြီဟု ငါတို့သိကြ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ငါတို့သည် နောက်မှ အပြစ်တရား၏အစေကို မခံစေခြင်းငှါ၊ အပြစ်တရား၏ ကိုယ်ကို ဖျက်ဆီးမည်အကြောင်းတည်း။ | Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. |
| 7 | သေသောသူသည် အပြစ်တရား၏ လက်မှ လွတ်လျက်ရှိ၏။ | For he that is dead is freed from sin. |
| 8 | ခရစ်တော်သည် သေခြင်းမှထမြောက်သောအခါ၊ သေခြင်းနှင့် အစဉ်ကင်းလွတ်တော်မူ၏။ | Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: |
| 9 | သေခြင်းတရားသည် နောက်တဖန်ကိုယ်တော်ကို မအုပ်စိုးရသည်ကို ထောက်သော်၊ ငါတို့သည် ခရစ်တော်နှင့် အတူသေလျှင်၊ ထိုသခင်နှင့်အတူ ရှင်လိမ့်မည်ဟုသဘော ရှိကြ၏။ | Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. |
| 10 | ခရစ်တော်သည် အသေခံတော်မူရာမှာ၊ အပြစ်တရားကြောင့် တကြိမ်သာခံတော်မူ၏။ အသက် ရှင်တော်မူရမှာ၊ ဘုရားသခင့်အဘို့ ရှင်တော်မူ၏။ | For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. |
| 11 | ထိုနည်းတူ သင်တို့သည် အပြစ်တရားနှင့် ဆိုင်သောအရာ၌ကား၊ အသေဖြစ်သည်ဟူ၍၎င်း၊ ဘုရားသခင်နှင့်ဆိုင်သောအရာ၌ကား၊ ငါတို့သခင် ယေရှုခရစ်အားဖြင့် အသက်ရှင်သည်ဟူ၍၎င်း၊ ကိုယ်ကိုကိုယ် ထင်မှတ်ကြလော့။ | Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. |
| 12 | ထိုကြောင့်၊ သင်တို့၏သေတတ်သော ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာ၏တပ်မက်ခြင်းအလိုသို့ လိုက်ရသည်တိုင်အောင်၊ အပြစ်တရားသည် ထိုကိုယ်ခန္ဓာ၌ အစိုးမရစေနှင့်။ | Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. |
| 13 | သင်တို့၏ကိုယ်အင်္ဂါများကို ဒုစရိုက်လက်နက် ဖြစ်စေ၍၊ အပြစ်တရားအား မဆက်ကြနှင့်။ သေခြင်းမှ ထမြောက်၍ အသက်ရှင်သောသူကဲ့သို့၊ ဘုရားသခင်အား ကိုယ်ကိုကိုယ်ဆက်ကြလော့။ | Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. |
| 14 | ကိုယ်အင်္ဂါများကိုလည်း သုစရိုက်လက်နက် ဖြစ်စေ၍၊ ဘုရားသခင်အားဆက်ကြလော့။ သင်တို့သည် ပညတ်တရားလက်၌မရှိ၊ ကျေးဇူးတရားလက်၌ရှိသောကြောင့် အပြစ်တရားသည် သင်တို့ကို မအုပ်စိုးရ။ | For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. |
| 15 | ထိုသို့ဖြစ်လျှင် အဘယ်သို့နည်း၊ ငါတို့သည် ပညတ်တရားလက်၌ရှိသောကြောင့်၊ ဒုစရိုက်ကို ပြုရမည် လော။ ထိုသို့မပြုရ။ | What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. |
| 16 | အကြင်သူ၏အထံ၌ အစေခံကျွန်ဖြစ်ခြင်းငှါ သင်တို့ဝင်၍ အစေခံ၏၊ ထိုသူသည်သေခြင်းနှင့် ယှဉ်သော အပြစ်တရားဖြစ်စေ၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်ရာသို့ ရောက်ခြင်းနှင့်ယှဉ်သော နားထောင်ခြင်း တရားဖြစ်စေ၊ သင်တို့၏သခင်ဖြစ်သည်ကို မသိကြသလော။ | Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? |
| 17 | သင်တို့သည် အပြစ်တရား၏ ကျွန်ဖြစ်ဘူးသော်လည်း၊ ယခုတွင်ခံခဲ့ပြီးသော ဩဝါဒနည်းဥပဒေသ စကားကို စေတနာစိတ်နှင့် နားထောင်ကြသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ဘုရားသခင်၏ကျေးဇူးတော်ကြီးလှပေ၏။ | But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. |
| 18 | သင်တို့သည် အပြစ်တရား၏ လက်မှလွတ်ကြပြီဖြစ်၍၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်ခြင်းတရား၏ ကျွန်ဖြစ်ကြ၏။ | Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. |
| 19 | ထိုသို့ ငါဆိုသော်၊ သင်တို့ဇာတိပကတိအတိုင်း ဉာဏ်နည်းသောကြောင့်၊ လောကီဝေါဟာရအားဖြင့် ဆိုသတည်း။ သင်တို့သည် မိမိတို့ ကိုယ်အင်္ဂါများကို အဓမ္မ အလိုငှါ ညစ်ညူးခြင်းတရား၊ အဓမ္မတရား၌ သွင်း၍ ကျွန်ခံစေကြလော့။ | I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. |
| 20 | သင်တို့သည် အပြစ်တရား၏ ကျွန်ဖြစ်စဉ် ကာလ၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်ခြင်းတရား၏လက်မှ လွတ်ကြ၏။ | For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. |
| 21 | ယခု သင်တို့ရှက်ကြောက်သော ထိုအကျင့်တို့ကို ကျင့်စဉ်အခါ၊ အဘယ်အကျိုးကိုရကြသနည်း။ ထိုသို့သောအကျင့်သည် သေခြင်း၌ လမ်းဆုံးသတည်း။ | What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. |
| 22 | ယခုမူကား၊ သင်တို့သည် အပြစ်တရား၏ လက်မှလွှတ်၍၊ ဘုရားသခင်၏ ကျွန်ဖြစ်ကြသည်နှင့် အညီ၊ သန့်ရှင်းခြင်းအကျိုးကိုရကြ၏။ အဆုံး၌လည်း ထာဝရအသက်ကို ရကြလိမ့်မည်။ | But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. |
| 23 | အပြစ်တရား၏ အခကားသေခြင်းပေတည်း။ ဘုရားသခင်ပေးတော်မူသော ဆုကျေးဇူးတော်ကား၊ ငါတို့ သခင်ယေရှုခရစ်အားဖြင့် ထာဝရ အသက်ပေတည်း။ | For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |
