| 1 | 我又見たるに、別に天より下る一の強き天使ありて、身には雲を纏ひ、頭には虹あり、其顔は日の如く、其足は火柱の如く、 | And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: |
| 2 | 手には開きたる小き巻物あり、右の足を海の上に、左の足を地の上に踏み、 | And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, |
| 3 | 獅子の吼ゆるが如き大いなる聲して叫びしが、叫び終りて七の雷聲を出せり。 | And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. |
| 4 | 然て七の雷聲を出したる時、我之を書記さんとせしに、天より聲ありて、七の雷の語りし事を封じて、之を書記すこと勿れと我に謂へるを聞けり。 | And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. |
| 5 | 斯て前に見たりし海陸の上に跨りて立てる天使、右の手を挙げて天を指し、 | And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, |
| 6 | 世々に限なく活き給ひ、天と之に有らゆるものと、地と之に有らゆるものと、海と之に有らゆるものとを造り給ひしものを指して誓ひ言ひけるは、最早時あらざるべし、 | And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: |
| 7 | 然れど第七の天使の聲を出し、喇叭を吹始むる時に至りて、神の奥義は其僕なる預言者等を以て幸に告げ給ひしが如く成就すべし、と。 | But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. |
| 8 | 又天より聲聞えて、再び我に語り、往きて海陸に跨りて立てる天使の手より、開きたる巻物を取れと言ひしかば、我天使の許に至りて、我に巻物を與へよ、と言ひしに彼我に謂ひけるは、 | And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. |
| 9 | 巻物を取りて食盡せ、汝の腹を苦からしめんも、口には蜜の如く甘かるべし、と。 | And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. |
| 10 | 斯て我天使の手より巻物を受けて之を食盡ししに、我口に在りては蜜の如く甘かりしも、食盡して後我腹は苦く成れり。 | And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. |
| 11 | 又我に謂ふものあり、汝は多くの民族と國民と、國語と國王に就きて、再び預言せざるべからず、と。 | And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. |
