1 キリスト、イエズスの囚人たるパウロ及び兄弟チモテオ、我等が愛する所の助力者フィレモン、最愛の姉妹たるアッピア、戰友たるアルキッポ、 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,
2 及び汝の家に在る教會に[書簡を贈る]。 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
3 願はくは我父にて在す神、及び主イエズス、キリストより、恩寵と平安とを汝等に賜はらん事を。 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 我は神に感謝し奉り、我祈の中に常に汝を記念し、主イエズス、キリストに於る、 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
5 又凡ての聖徒に對する汝の愛と信仰とを聞きて、 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;
6 キリスト、イエズスに對して我等の中に在る善業の悉く知渡れる事によりて、汝が信仰の施の有効ならん事を冀ふ。 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
7 兄弟よ、聖徒等の腸汝によりて安んぜられたるが故に、我は汝の愛に就きて大いなる喜と慰とを得たり。 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
8 然ればキリスト、イエズスに於て、事に應じて為すべき所を命ずるは、我が敢て憚らざる所なりと雖も、 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,
9 寧愛に對して勧め、斯の如くなる我、即ち老人にして而も現にイエズス、キリストの囚人たるパウロ、 Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
10 鎖に在りて生みし所の我子オネジモの為に汝に希ふ。 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
11 彼は曾て汝に無益なりしかど、今は我にも汝にも有益なり、 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
12 我は之を汝に送返す、願はくは汝我腸の如くに之を受けん事を。 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
13 我は彼をして、汝に代りて福音の為に鎖に繋がるる我に仕へしむる様、我と共に留らしめん事を欲したれど、 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
14 汝に聞かずしては何事をも為すを好まざりき。是汝の善業をして、已むを得ざるが如くならず、篤志に由らしめんが為なり。 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
15 彼が一時汝を離れしは、或は汝が永遠に之を受けて、 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
16 最早奴隷としてには非ず、奴隷に優りて至愛の兄弟と成さん為には非ずや。我には、殊に然ある者なれば、况て汝に取りては、肉身に於ても主に於ても然らん。 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
17 然れば汝若我を友とせば、彼を承容るる事我に於るが如くせよ。 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
18 彼若汝に損害を與へ、或は負債あらば、之を我に負はせよ。 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;
19 我パウロ手づから書記せり、我必ず償ふべし。汝が己を以て我に償ふべき負債ある事は、我之を言はじ。 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.
20 然り、兄弟よ、我は主に於て汝を樂しまん、請ふ主に於て我腸を安んぜしめよ。 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
21 我汝の從順を信じ、其為さんとする所は我が言ふ所に優れるを知りて、汝に書贈れるなり。 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
22 然て同時に我為に宿を備へよ、蓋我は我身の、汝等の祈によりて汝等に與へられん事を希望す。 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
23 キリスト、イエズスに在りて我と共に囚人たるエパフラ、汝に宜しくと言へり。 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;
24 我助力者たるマルコ、アリスタルコ、デマス、ルカも亦同じ。 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.
25 願はくは我主イエズス、キリストの恩寵、汝等の霊と共に在らん事を、アメン。 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. Written from Rome to Philemon, by Onesimus a servant.
