1 時に、エルザレムより律法學士とファリザイ人と來り、イエズスに近づきて云ひけるは、 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 汝の弟子等は何故に古人の傳を犯すぞ。蓋麪を食する時に手を洗はざるなり、と。 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 答へて曰ひけるは、汝等も亦己が傳の為に神の掟を犯すは何ぞや、蓋神曰く、 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4 「父母を敬へ。又父或は母を詛ふ人は殺さるべし」と。 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5 然るに汝等は云ふ、誰にても父或は母に向ひて、我献物は皆汝の為ならんとだに云へば、 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
6 其父或は母を敬はずして可なりと、斯て汝等は己が傳の為に神の掟を空しくせり。 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
7 僞善者よ、イザヤは汝等に就きて能く預言して、 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 云らく「此人民は唇に我を敬へども、其心は我に遠ざかり、 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 人の訓戒を教へて徒に我を尊ぶなり」と。 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
10 イエズス群衆を召集めて曰ひけるは、 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 汝等聞きて暁れ、 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
12 口に入る物人を汚すに非ず、口より出づる者こそ人を汚すなれ、と。其時弟子等近づきて云ひけるは、ファリザイ人が此言を聞きて躓けるを知り給ふか。 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
13 イエズス答へて曰ひけるは、総て我天父の植ゑ給はざる植物は抜かるべし、 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
14 汝等彼人々を措け、彼等は瞽者にして瞽者の手引なり、瞽者若瞽者を手引せば二人とも坑に陥るべし、と。 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
15 ペトロ是に答へて、此喩を我等に釈き給へ、と云ひしかば、 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
16 イエズス曰ひけるは、汝等猶智恵なき者なるか、 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
17 総て口に入る物は腹に至りて厠に落つと暁らざるか、 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 然れど口より出づる物は、心より出でて人を汚すなり、 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 即ち惡念人殺姦淫私通偸盗僞證冒涜は心より出づ、 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 是等こそ人を汚すものなれ、然れど手を洗はずして食する事は人を汚さざるなり、と。 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
21 イエズス此處を去りて、チロとシドンとの地方に避け給ひしに、 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 折しもカナアンの或婦其地方より出で、叫びて、主よ、ダヴィドの子よ、我を憫み給へ、我が女甚く惡魔に苦しめらる、と云へるに、 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 イエズス一言も答へ給はざれば、弟子等近づきて、彼婦我等の後に叫ぶ、彼を去らしめ給へ、と請へども、 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 イエズス答へて、我は唯イスラエルの家の迷へる羊に遣はされしのみ、と曰へり。 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 然るに婦來り禮拝して、主よ、我を助け給へ、と云ひしに、 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 答へて、子等の麪を取りて犬に投與ふるは可からず、と曰ひしかば、 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 婦云ひけるは、主よ、然り、然れども子犬も其主人の食卓より落つる屑を食ふなり、と。 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 イエズス遂に彼に答へて、嗚呼婦よ、大なる哉汝の信仰、望める儘に汝に成れと、曰ひければ、其女即時に痊えたり。 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
29 イエズス此處を過ぎて、ガリレアの湖辺に至り、山に登りて坐し給ひければ、 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
30 夥しき群衆あり、唖者瞽者跛者不具者其外多くの者を携へて彼に近づき、其足下に放置きしに、イエズス是等を醫し給へり。 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:
31 然れば群衆は唖者の言ひ、跛者の歩み、瞽者の見ゆるを見て感嘆し、光榮をイスラエルの神に歸し奉れり。 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 時にイエズス、弟子等を召集めて曰ひけるは、我[此]群衆を憐む、蓋忍びて我と共に居る事既に三日にして食すべき物なし、我之を空腹にして去らしむるを好まず、恐らくは途にて倒れん、と。 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
33 弟子等云ひけるは、然りとて此荒野にて、斯程の群衆を飽かすべき麪を、我等何處よりか求め得ん。 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
34 イエズス曰ひけるは、汝等幾個の麪をか有てる、と。答へて、七と少しの小魚とあり、と云ひしかば、 And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
35 イエズス命じて群衆を地に坐らせ、 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36 七の麪と其魚とを取り、謝して擘き、弟子等に與へ給ひ、弟子等之を人民に與へ、 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37 皆食して飽足れり。殘の屑を拾ひて七の筐に満ちしが And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
38 食せし者は、婦女と幼童とを除きて四千人なりき。 And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
39 イエズス群衆を去らしめ、小舟に乗りてマゲダンの地方に至り給へり。 And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
