1 兄弟等よ、我は曩に霊的人物に對するが如くにして汝等に語る事能はず、肉的人物即ちキリストに於る小兒に語るが如くにして、 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 汝等に乳を飲ましめ、堅き食物を與へざりき。是其時汝等未だ之に適はざりし故なりしが、汝等は今も尚肉的人物なるを以て之に適はざるなり。 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 即ち汝等の間に嫉妬と争論とあるは、是肉的にして人の如く歩むに非ずや。 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 或人我はパウロのものなりと云ふを、他の人我はアポルロのものなりと云へば、汝等尚人たるに非ずや。然らばアポルロ何者ぞ、パウロ何者ぞ、 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 彼等は汝等が頼りて以て信ぜし僕にして、而も主の各に賜ひたる儘の者に過ぎず。 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 我は植ゑ、アポルロは水濯げり、然れど發育を賜ひしは神なり。 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 然れば植うる人も水濯ぐ人も、共に數ふるに足らず、唯發育を賜ふ神あるのみ。 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 植うる人も水濯ぐ人も一にして、各其勞に随ひ、面々の報を受くべきなり。 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 蓋我等は神の助手にして、汝等は神の耕作地なり。神の建築物なり。 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 我は、賜はりたる神の恩寵に從ひて、敏き建築者の如く基礎を据ゑしに、他人は其上に建築す、各如何にして其上に建築すべきかを慮るべし。 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 其は据ゑられたる基礎即ちキリスト、イエズスを除きては、誰も他の基礎を置く事能はざればなり。 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 人若此基礎の上に、金、銀、寳石、木、草、藁を以て建築せば、 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 面々の建物顕れん、蓋主の日に於て明にせらるべし、其は火を以て顕され、火は面々の建物の如何を試すべければなり。 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 若誰にもあれ、其上に建築したる建物にして之に堪へなば、其人は報を得べく、 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 若其建物焼けなば其人は損を受けん、然れど己は殆ど火を経たる如くに救はるべし。 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 汝等は其身が神の聖殿なる事、神の霊汝等の中に住み給ふ事を知らざるか。 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 人若神殿を毀たば神之を亡ぼし給ふべし、蓋神殿は聖にして汝等は即ち其なり。 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18 誰も自ら欺くこと勿れ、汝等の中に己を敏しと思ふ者あらば、智者たらん為に此世に於て愚なるべし。 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 其は此世の智恵は神の御前に愚なればなり。蓋録して、「我智者等を其狡猾によりて捕へん」、とあり。 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 又、「主は智者等の思の徒なるを知り給ふ」、とあり。 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 然れば誰も人を以て誇と為すべからず、 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
22 蓋萬事は汝等のものなり、或はパウロ、或はアポルロ、或はケファ、或は世、或は生、或は死、或は現在の事、或は未來の事、即ち一切は汝等のものなり、 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
23 然れど汝等はキリストのものにして、キリストは神のものなり。 And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
