| 2 | コリントに在る神の教會、即ちキリスト、イエズスに於て聖とせられ聖徒と召されたる人々、及び彼等の處我等の處何れの處にも在りて、我主イエズス、キリストの御名を呼べる人々一同に[書簡を贈る]。 | Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: |
| 3 | 願はくは我父にて在す神及び主イエズス、キリストより恩寵と平安とを汝等に賜はらんことを。 | Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 4 | キリスト、イエズスに於て汝等に賜はりたる神の恩寵に就きて、我絶えず汝等の為に我神に感謝し奉る。 | I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; |
| 5 | 其は汝等彼に於て、凡ての教、凡ての智識、何物にも富める者となりたればなり。 | That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; |
| 6 | 蓋キリストの證明汝等の中に堅くせられたれば、 | Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: |
| 7 | 汝等如何なる恩寵にも缼くる所なくして、我主イエズス、キリストの顕れ給ふを待てるなり。 | So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: |
| 8 | 神は汝等を終まで堅固ならしめ、無罪にして我主イエズス、キリストの降臨の日に至らしめ給ふべし。 | Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 9 | 其は其御子にて在す我主イエズス、キリストに與すべく、汝等を召し給へる神は、眞實にて在せばなり。 | God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. |
| 10 | 兄弟等よ、我主イエズス、キリストの御名によりて我汝等に勧告す、汝等皆言ふ所を同うして、其間に分裂ある事なく、同意同説に全く相一致せんことを。 | Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. |
| 11 | 蓋我兄弟等よ、クロエの家の人々より報じ來りし所に據れば、汝等の間に[種々の]争論ある由。 | For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. |
| 12 | 我之を云はんに、汝等各、我はパウロのもの、我はアポルロのもの我はケファのもの、我はキリストのものなりと云ふ。 | Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. |
| 13 | キリスト豈分割せられ給ひし者ならんや、パウロは汝等の為に十字架に釘けられしか、或は汝等はパウロの名に由りて洗せられしか。 | Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? |
| 14 | 我は汝等の中、クリスポとカヨとの外、誰をも洗せざりし事を神に感謝す、 | I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; |
| 15 | 然れば一人も我名によりて洗せられたりと云ふ者はあらじ。 | Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. |
| 16 | 尚ステファナの一家をも洗したれど、其外には我人を洗したるを知らざるなり。 | And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. |
| 17 | 蓋我がキリストより遣はされしは、洗する為に非ずして福音を傳へん為なり。而も言の智恵を以てすべきに非ず、是キリストの十字架の空しくならざらん為なり。 | For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. |
| 18 | 蓋十字架の言は亡ぶる人には愚なる事なれども、救はるる者即ち我等には神の大能なり。 | For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. |
| 19 | 録して、「我は智者の智恵を亡ぼし、賢者の賢さを傷はん」、とあればなり。 | For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. |
| 20 | 此世の智者何處にか在る、律法學者何處にか在る、論者何處にか在る。神は此世の智を愚ならしめ給ひしに非ずや。 | Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? |
| 21 | 蓋世[の人]は其智恵を以て、神の全智[の業]に於て神を認めざりしかば、神は宣教の愚を以て信者を救ふを善しとし給へり。 | For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. |
| 22 | 即ちユデア人は徴を求め、ギリシア人は智恵を探ぬるに、 | For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: |
| 23 | 我等は十字架に釘けられ給へるキリストを宣傳ふるなり。是ユデア人に取りては躓くもの、ギリシア人に取りては愚なる事なれども、 | But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; |
| 24 | 召されしユデア人及びギリシア人に取りては神の大能、神の智恵たるキリストなり。 | But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. |
| 25 | 其は神の愚なる所は人よりも敏く、神の弱き所は人よりも強ければなり。 | Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. |
| 26 | 兄弟等よ、汝等の召されし者を看よ、肉に由れる智者は多からず、有力者は多からず、尊き者は多からず、 | For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: |
| 27 | 却て智者を辱めんとて、神は世の愚なる所を召し給ひ、強き所を辱めんとて、神は世の弱き所を召し給ひ、 | But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; |
| 28 | 現に在る所を亡ぼさんとて、神は世の卑しき所、蔑にせらるる所、無き所をば召し給ひしなり。 | And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: |
| 29 | 是何人も御前に於て驕らざらん為なり。 | That no flesh should glory in his presence. |
| 30 | 汝等は神に由りてこそ、我等の智恵と義と成聖と贖とに成り給ひしキリスト、イエズスに在るなれ。 | But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: |
| 31 | 是録されたる如く、「誇る者は主に於て誇らん」為なり。 | That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. |
