1 ソロモン王はイスラエルの全地の王であった。 So king Solomon was king over all Israel.
2 彼の高官たちは次のとおりである。ザドクの子アザリヤは祭司。 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,
3 シシャの子エリホレフとアヒヤは書記官。アヒルデの子ヨシャバテは史官。 Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.
4 エホヤダの子ベナヤは軍の長。ザドクとアビヤタルは祭司。 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:
5 ナタンの子アザリヤは代官の長。ナタンの子ザブデは祭司で、王の友であった。 And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king’s friend:
6 アヒシャルは宮内卿。アブダの子アドニラムは徴募の長であった。 And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.
7 ソロモンはまたイスラエルの全地に十二人の代官を置いた。その人々は王とその家のために食物を備えた。すなわちおのおの一年に一月ずつ食物を備えるのであった。 And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.
8 その名は次のとおりである。エフライムの山地にはベンホル。 And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:
9 マカヅと、シャラビムと、ベテシメシと、エロン・ベテハナンにはベンデケル。 The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth–shemesh, and Elon–beth–hanan:
10 アルボテにはベンヘセデ、（彼はソコとヘペルの全地を担当した）。 The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:
11 ドルの高地の全部にはベン・アビナダブ、（彼はソロモンの娘タパテを妻とした）。 The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
12 アヒルデの子バアナはタアナクとメギドと、エズレルの下、ザレタンのかたわらにあるベテシャンの全地を担当して、ベテシャンからアベル・メホラに至り、ヨクメアムの向こうにまで及んだ。 Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth–shean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Beth–shean to Abel–meholah, even unto the place that is beyond Jokneam:
13 ラモテ・ギレアデにはベンゲベル、（彼はギレアデにあるマナセの子ヤイルの村々を担当し、またバシャンにあるアルゴブの地方の城壁と青銅の貫の木のある大きな町六十を担当した）。 The son of Geber, in Ramoth–gilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brasen bars:
14 マハナイムにはイドの子アヒナダブ。 Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim:
15 ナフタリにはアヒマアズ、（彼もソロモンの娘バスマテを妻にめとった）。 Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
16 アセルとベアロテにはホシャイの子バアナ。 Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth:
17 イッサカルにはパルアの子ヨシャパテ。 Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar:
18 ベニヤミンにはエラの子シメイ。 Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin:
19 アモリびとの王シホンの地およびバシャンの王オグの地なるギレアデの地にはウリの子ゲベル。彼はその地のただひとりの代官であった。 Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land.
20 ユダとイスラエルの人々は多くて、海べの砂のようであったが、彼らは飲み食いして楽しんだ。 Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.
21 ソロモンはユフラテ川からペリシテびとの地と、エジプトの境に至るまでの諸国を治めたので、皆みつぎ物を携えてきて、ソロモンの一生のあいだ仕えた。 And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22 さてソロモンの一日の食物は細かい麦粉三十コル、荒い麦粉六十コル、 And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,
23 肥えた牛十頭、牧場の牛二十頭、羊百頭で、そのほかに雄じか、かもしか、こじか、および肥えた鳥があった。 Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl.
24 これはソロモンがユフラテ川の西の地方をテフサからガザまで、ことごとく治めたからである。すなわち彼はユフラテ川の西の諸王をことごとく治め、周囲至る所に平安を得た。 For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
25 ソロモンの一生の間、ユダとイスラエルはダンからベエルシバに至るまで、安らかにおのおの自分たちのぶどうの木の下と、いちじくの木の下に住んだ。 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beer–sheba, all the days of Solomon.
26 ソロモンはまた戦車の馬の、うまや四千と、騎兵一万二千を持っていた。 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27 そしてそれらの代官たちはおのおの当番の月にソロモン王のため、およびすべてソロモン王の食卓に連なる者のために、食物を備えて欠けることのないようにした。 And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon’s table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.
28 また彼らはおのおのその割当にしたがって馬および早馬に食わせる大麦とわらを、その馬のいる所に持ってきた。 Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.
29 神はソロモンに非常に多くの知恵と悟りを授け、また海べの砂原のように広い心を授けられた。 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
30 ソロモンの知恵は東の人々の知恵とエジプトのすべての知恵にまさった。 And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31 彼はすべての人よりも賢く、エズラびとエタンよりも、またマホルの子ヘマン、カルコル、ダルダよりも賢く、その名声は周囲のすべての国々に聞えた。 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.
32 彼はまた箴言三千を説いた。またその歌は一千五首あった。 And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
33 彼はまた草木のことを論じてレバノンの香柏から石がきにはえるヒソプにまで及んだ。彼はまた獣と鳥と這うものと魚のことを論じた。 And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
34 諸国の人々はソロモンの知恵を聞くためにきた。地の諸王はソロモンの知恵を聞いて人をつかわした。 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
