| 1 | あだを報いられる神、主よ、あだを報いられる神よ、光を放ってください。 | O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. |
| 2 | 地をさばかれる者よ、立って高ぶる者にその受くべき罰をお与えください。 | Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. |
| 3 | 主よ、悪しき者はいつまで、悪しき者はいつまで勝ち誇るでしょうか。 | Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? |
| 4 | 彼らは高慢な言葉を吐き散らし、すべて不義を行う者はみずから高ぶります。 | How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? |
| 5 | 主よ、彼らはあなたの民を打ち砕き、あなたの嗣業を苦しめます。 | They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage. |
| 6 | 彼らはやもめと旅びとのいのちをうばい、みなしごを殺します。 | They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. |
| 7 | 彼らは言います、「主は見ない、ヤコブの神は悟らない」と。 | Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. |
| 8 | 民のうちの鈍き者よ、悟れ。愚かな者よ、いつ賢くなるだろうか。 | Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? |
| 9 | 耳を植えた者は聞くことをしないだろうか、目を造った者は見ることをしないだろうか。 | He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? |
| 10 | もろもろの国民を懲らす者は罰することをしないだろうか、人を教える者は知識をもたないだろうか。 | He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? |
| 11 | 主は人の思いの、むなしいことを知られる。 | The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. |
| 12 | 主よ、あなたによって懲らされる人、あなたのおきてを教えられる人はさいわいです。 | Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law; |
| 13 | あなたはその人を災の日からのがれさせ、悪しき者のために穴が掘られるまでその人に平安を与えられます。 | That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. |
| 14 | 主はその民を捨てず、その嗣業を見捨てられないからです。 | For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. |
| 15 | さばきは正義に帰り、すべて心の正しい者はそれに従うでしょう。 | But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it. |
| 16 | だれがわたしのために立ちあがって、悪しき者を責めるだろうか。だれがわたしのために立って、不義を行う者を責めるだろうか。 | Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? |
| 17 | もしも主がわたしを助けられなかったならば、わが魂はとくに音なき所に住んだであろう。 | Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. |
| 18 | しかし「わたしの足がすべる」と思ったとき、主よ、あなたのいつくしみはわたしをささえられました。 | When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up. |
| 19 | わたしのうちに思い煩いの満ちるとき、あなたの慰めはわが魂を喜ばせます。 | In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. |
| 20 | 定めをもって危害をたくらむ悪しき支配者はあなたと親しむことができるでしょうか。 | Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? |
| 21 | 彼らは相結んで正しい人の魂を責め、罪のない者に死を宣告します。 | They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. |
| 22 | しかし主はわが高きやぐらとなり、わが神はわが避け所の岩となられました。 | But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. |
| 23 | 主は彼らの不義を彼らに報い、彼らをその悪のゆえに滅ぼされます。われらの神、主は彼らを滅ぼされます。 | And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off. |
