| 2 | シオンの山は北の端が高くて、うるわしく、全地の喜びであり、大いなる王の都である。 | Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. |
| 3 | そのもろもろの殿のうちに神はみずからを高きやぐらとして現された。 | God is known in her palaces for a refuge. |
| 4 | 見よ、王らは相会して共に進んできたが、 | For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together. |
| 5 | 彼らは都を見るや驚き、あわてふためき、急ぎ逃げ去った。 | They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away. |
| 6 | おののきは彼らに臨み、その苦しみは産みの苦しみをする女のようであった。 | Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail. |

| 11 | あなたのさばきのゆえに、シオンの山を喜ばせ、ユダの娘を楽しませてください。 | Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments. |
| 12 | シオンのまわりを歩き、あまねくめぐって、そのやぐらを数え、 | Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof. |
| 13 | その城壁に心をとめ、そのもろもろの殿をしらべよ。これはあなたがたが後の代に語り伝えるためである。 | Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following. |
| 14 | これこそ神であり、世々かぎりなくわれらの神であって、とこしえにわれらを導かれるであろう。 | For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death. |
