| 1 | 貧しい者をかえりみる人はさいわいである。主はそのような人を悩みの日に救い出される。 | Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. |
| 2 | 主は彼を守って、生きながらえさせられる。彼はこの地にあって、さいわいな者と呼ばれる。あなたは彼をその敵の欲望にわたされない。 | The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. |
| 3 | 主は彼をその病の床でささえられる。あなたは彼の病む時、その病をことごとくいやされる。 | The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. |
| 4 | わたしは言った、「主よ、わたしをあわれみ、わたしをいやしてください。わたしはあなたにむかって罪を犯しました」と。 | I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. |
| 5 | わたしの敵はわたしをそしって言う、「いつ彼は死に、その名がほろびるであろうか」と。 | Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish? |
| 6 | そのひとりがわたしを見ようとして来るとき、彼は偽りを語り、その心によこしまを集め、外に出てはそれを言いふらす。 | And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it. |
| 7 | すべてわたしを憎む者はわたしについて共にささやき、わたしのために災を思いめぐらす。 | All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. |
| 8 | 彼らは言う、「彼に一つのたたりがつきまとったから、倒れ伏して再び起きあがらないであろう」と。 | An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more. |
| 9 | わたしの信頼した親しい友、わたしのパンを食べた親しい友さえもわたしにそむいてくびすをあげた。 | Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. |
| 10 | しかし主よ、わたしをあわれみ、わたしを助け起してください。そうすればわたしは彼らに報い返すことができます。 | But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. |
| 11 | わたしの敵がわたしに打ち勝てないことによって、あなたがわたしを喜ばれることをわたしは知ります。 | By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. |
| 12 | あなたはわたしの全きによって、わたしをささえ、とこしえにみ前に置かれます。 | And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. |
| 13 | イスラエルの神、主はとこしえからとこしえまでほむべきかな。アァメン、アァメン。 | Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen. |
