| 1 | わたしのほめたたえる神よ、もださないでください。 | Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise; |
| 2 | 彼らは悪しき口と欺きの口をあけて、わたしにむかい、偽りの舌をもってわたしに語り、 | For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. |
| 3 | 恨みの言葉をもってわたしを囲み、ゆえなくわたしを攻めるのです。 | They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. |
| 4 | 彼らはわが愛にむくいて、わたしを非難します。しかしわたしは彼らのために祈ります。 | For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer. |
| 5 | 彼らは悪をもってわが善に報い、恨みをもってわが愛に報いるのです。 | And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. |
| 6 | 彼の上に悪しき人を立て、訴える者に彼を訴えさせてください。 | Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. |
| 7 | 彼がさばかれるとき、彼を罪ある者とし、その祈を罪に変えてください。 | When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin. |
| 8 | その日を少なくし、その財産をほかの人にとらせ、 | Let his days be few; and let another take his office. |
| 9 | その子らをみなしごにし、その妻をやもめにしてください。 | Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. |
| 10 | その子らを放浪者として施しをこわせ、その荒れたすまいから追い出させてください。 | Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places. |
| 11 | 彼が持っているすべての物を債主に奪わせ、その勤労の実をほかの人にかすめさせてください。 | Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour. |
| 12 | 彼にいつくしみを施す者はひとりもなく、またそのみなしごをあわれむ者もなく、 | Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children. |
| 13 | その子孫を絶えさせ、その名を次の代に消し去ってください。 | Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out. |
| 14 | その父たちの不義は主のみ前に覚えられ、その母の罪を消し去らないでください。 | Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. |
| 15 | それらを常に主のみ前に置き、彼の記憶を地から断ってください。 | Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth. |
| 16 | これは彼がいつくしみを施すことを思わず、かえって貧しい者、乏しい者を責め、心の痛める者を殺そうとしたからです。 | Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart. |
| 17 | 彼はのろうことを好んだ。のろいを彼に臨ませてください。彼は恵むことを喜ばなかった。恵みを彼から遠ざけてください。 | As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him. |
| 18 | 彼はのろいを衣のように着た。のろいを水のようにその身にしみこませ、油のようにその骨にしみこませてください。 | As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. |
| 19 | またそれを自分の着る着物のようにならせ、常に締める帯のようにならせてください。 | Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually. |
| 20 | これがわたしを非難する者と、わたしに逆らって悪いことを言う者の主からうける報いとしてください。 | Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the Lord, and of them that speak evil against my soul. |
| 21 | しかし、わが主なる神よ、あなたはみ名のために、わたしを顧みてください。あなたのいつくしみの深きにより、わたしをお助けください。 | But do thou for me, O God the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me. |
| 22 | わたしは貧しく、かつ乏しいのです。わたしの心はわがうちに傷ついています。 | For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. |
| 23 | わたしは夕日の影のように去りゆき、いなごのように追い払われます。 | I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust. |
| 24 | わたしのひざは断食によってよろめき、わたしの肉はやせ衰え、 | My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness. |
| 25 | わたしは彼らにそしられる者となりました。彼らはわたしを見ると、頭を振ります。 | I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads. |
| 26 | わが神、主よ、わたしをお助けください。あなたのいつくしみにしたがって、わたしをお救いください。 | Help me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy: |
| 27 | 主よ、これがあなたのみ手のわざであること、あなたがそれをなされたことを、彼らに知らせてください。 | That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord, hast done it. |
| 28 | 彼らはのろうけれども、あなたは祝福されます。わたしを攻める者をはずかしめ、あなたのしもべを喜ばせてください。 | Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice. |
| 29 | わたしを非難する者にはずかしめを着せ、おのが恥を上着のようにまとわせてください。 | Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. |
| 30 | わたしはわが口をもって大いに主に感謝し、多くの人のなかで主をほめたたえます。 | I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude. |
| 31 | 主は貧しい者の右に立って、死罪にさだめようとする者から彼を救われるからです。 | For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul. |
