| 1 | 最後に、わたしの兄弟たちよ。主にあって喜びなさい。さきに書いたのと同じことをここで繰り返すが、それは、わたしには煩らわしいことではなく、あなたがたには安全なことになる。 | Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. |
| 2 | あの犬どもを警戒しなさい。悪い働き人たちを警戒しなさい。肉に割礼の傷をつけている人たちを警戒しなさい。 | Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. |
| 3 | 神の霊によって礼拝をし、キリスト・イエスを誇とし、肉を頼みとしないわたしたちこそ、割礼の者である。 | For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. |
| 4 | もとより、肉の頼みなら、わたしにも無くはない。もし、だれかほかの人が肉を頼みとしていると言うなら、わたしはそれをもっと頼みとしている。 | Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: |
| 5 | わたしは八日目に割礼を受けた者、イスラエルの民族に属する者、ベニヤミン族の出身、ヘブル人の中のヘブル人、律法の上ではパリサイ人、 | Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; |
| 6 | 熱心の点では教会の迫害者、律法の義については落ち度のない者である。 | Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. |
| 7 | しかし、わたしにとって益であったこれらのものを、キリストのゆえに損と思うようになった。 | But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. |
| 8 | わたしは、更に進んで、わたしの主キリスト・イエスを知る知識の絶大な価値のゆえに、いっさいのものを損と思っている。キリストのゆえに、わたしはすべてを失ったが、それらのものを、ふん土のように思っている。それは、わたしがキリストを得るためであり、 | Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, |
| 9 | 律法による自分の義ではなく、キリストを信じる信仰による義、すなわち、信仰に基く神からの義を受けて、キリストのうちに自分を見いだすようになるためである。 | And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: |

| 12 | わたしがすでにそれを得たとか、すでに完全な者になっているとか言うのではなく、ただ捕えようとして追い求めているのである。そうするのは、キリスト・イエスによって捕えられているからである。 | Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. |
| 13 | 兄弟たちよ。わたしはすでに捕えたとは思っていない。ただこの一事を努めている。すなわち、後のものを忘れ、前のものに向かってからだを伸ばしつつ、 | Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, |
| 14 | 目標を目ざして走り、キリスト・イエスにおいて上に召して下さる神の賞与を得ようと努めているのである。 | I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. |
| 15 | だから、わたしたちの中で全き人たちは、そのように考えるべきである。しかし、あなたがたが違った考えを持っているなら、神はそのことも示して下さるであろう。 | Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. |
| 16 | ただ、わたしたちは、達し得たところに従って進むべきである。 | Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. |
| 17 | 兄弟たちよ。どうか、わたしにならう者となってほしい。また、あなたがたの模範にされているわたしたちにならって歩く人たちに、目をとめなさい。 | Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. |
| 18 | わたしがそう言うのは、キリストの十字架に敵対して歩いている者が多いからである。わたしは、彼らのことをしばしばあなたがたに話したが、今また涙を流して語る。 | (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: |
| 19 | 彼らの最後は滅びである。彼らの神はその腹、彼らの栄光はその恥、彼らの思いは地上のことである。 | Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) |
| 20 | しかし、わたしたちの国籍は天にある。そこから、救主、主イエス・キリストのこられるのを、わたしたちは待ち望んでいる。 | For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: |
| 21 | 彼は、万物をご自身に従わせうる力の働きによって、わたしたちの卑しいからだを、ご自身の栄光のからだと同じかたちに変えて下さるであろう。 | Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. |
