| 2 | 姉妹アピヤ、わたしたちの戦友アルキポ、ならびに、あなたの家にある教会へ。 | And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house: |
| 3 | わたしたちの父なる神と主イエス・キリストから、恵みと平安とが、あなたがたにあるように。 | Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 4 | わたしは、祈の時にあなたをおぼえて、いつもわたしの神に感謝している。 | I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, |
| 5 | それは、主イエスに対し、また、すべての聖徒に対するあなたの愛と信仰とについて、聞いているからである。 | Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; |

| 8 | こういうわけで、わたしは、キリストにあってあなたのなすべき事を、きわめて率直に指示してもよいと思うが、 | Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient, |
| 9 | むしろ、愛のゆえにお願いする。すでに老年になり、今またキリスト・イエスの囚人となっているこのパウロが、 | Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. |
| 10 | 捕われの身で産んだわたしの子供オネシモについて、あなたにお願いする。 | I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: |

| 14 | しかし、わたしは、あなたの承諾なしには何もしたくない。あなたが強制されて良い行いをするのではなく、自発的にすることを願っている。 | But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly. |
| 15 | 彼がしばらくの間あなたから離れていたのは、あなたが彼をいつまでも留めておくためであったかも知れない。 | For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever; |

| 22 | ついでにお願いするが、わたしのために宿を用意しておいてほしい。あなたがたの祈によって、あなたがたの所に行かせてもらえるように望んでいるのだから。 | But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you. |
