| 2 | 神はこう言われる、「わたしは、恵みの時にあなたの願いを聞きいれ、救の日にあなたを助けた」。見よ、今は恵みの時、見よ、今は救の日である。 | (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) |
| 3 | この務がそしりを招かないために、わたしたちはどんな事にも、人につまずきを与えないようにし、 | Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: |
| 4 | かえって、あらゆる場合に、神の僕として、自分を人々にあらわしている。すなわち、極度の忍苦にも、患難にも、危機にも、行き詰まりにも、 | But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, |
| 5 | むち打たれることにも、入獄にも、騒乱にも、労苦にも、徹夜にも、飢餓にも、 | In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; |
| 6 | 真実と知識と寛容と、慈愛と聖霊と偽りのない愛と、 | By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, |
| 7 | 真理の言葉と神の力とにより、左右に持っている義の武器により、 | By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, |
| 8 | ほめられても、そしられても、悪評を受けても、好評を博しても、神の僕として自分をあらわしている。わたしたちは、人を惑わしているようであるが、しかも真実であり、 | By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; |
| 9 | 人に知られていないようであるが、認められ、死にかかっているようであるが、見よ、生きており、懲らしめられているようであるが、殺されず、 | As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; |
| 10 | 悲しんでいるようであるが、常に喜んでおり、貧しいようであるが、多くの人を富ませ、何も持たないようであるが、すべての物を持っている。 | As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. |
| 11 | コリントの人々よ。あなたがたに向かってわたしたちの口は開かれており、わたしたちの心は広くなっている。 | O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged. |
| 12 | あなたがたは、わたしたちに心をせばめられていたのではなく、自分で心をせばめていたのだ。 | Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels. |
| 13 | わたしは子供たちに対するように言うが、どうかあなたがたの方でも心を広くして、わたしに応じてほしい。 | Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged. |
| 14 | 不信者と、つり合わないくびきを共にするな。義と不義となんの係わりがあるか。光とやみとなんの交わりがあるか。 | Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? |
| 15 | キリストとベリアルとなんの調和があるか。信仰と不信仰となんの関係があるか。 | And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? |
| 16 | 神の宮と偶像となんの一致があるか。わたしたちは、生ける神の宮である。神がこう仰せになっている、「わたしは彼らの間に住み、かつ出入りをするであろう。そして、わたしは彼らの神となり、彼らはわたしの民となるであろう」。 | And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. |
| 17 | だから、「彼らの間から出て行き、彼らと分離せよ、と主は言われる。そして、汚れたものに触てはならない。触なければ、わたしはあなたがたを受けいれよう。 | Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, |
