| 1 | あなたがたの中のひとりが、仲間の者と何か争いを起した場合、それを聖徒に訴えないで、正しくない者に訴え出るようなことをするのか。 | Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? |
| 2 | それとも、聖徒は世をさばくものであることを、あなたがたは知らないのか。そして、世があなたがたによってさばかれるべきであるのに、きわめて小さい事件でもさばく力がないのか。 | Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? |
| 3 | あなたがたは知らないのか、わたしたちは御使をさえさばく者である。ましてこの世の事件などは、いうまでもないではないか。 | Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? |
| 4 | それだのに、この世の事件が起ると、教会で軽んじられている人たちを、裁判の席につかせるのか。 | If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. |
| 5 | わたしがこう言うのは、あなたがたをはずかしめるためである。いったい、あなたがたの中には、兄弟の間の争いを仲裁することができるほどの知者は、ひとりもいないのか。 | I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? |
| 6 | しかるに、兄弟が兄弟を訴え、しかもそれを不信者の前に持ち出すのか。 | But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. |
| 7 | そもそも、互に訴え合うこと自体が、すでにあなたがたの敗北なのだ。なぜ、むしろ不義を受けないのか。なぜ、むしろだまされていないのか。 | Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? |
| 8 | しかるに、あなたがたは不義を働き、だまし取り、しかも兄弟に対してそうしているのである。 | Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. |
| 9 | それとも、正しくない者が神の国をつぐことはないのを、知らないのか。まちがってはいけない。不品行な者、偶像を礼拝する者、姦淫をする者、男娼となる者、男色をする者、盗む者、 | Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, |
| 10 | 貪欲な者、酒に酔う者、そしる者、略奪する者は、いずれも神の国をつぐことはないのである。 | Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. |
| 11 | あなたがたの中には、以前はそんな人もいた。しかし、あなたがたは、主イエス・キリストの名によって、またわたしたちの神の霊によって、洗われ、きよめられ、義とされたのである。 | And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. |
| 12 | すべてのことは、わたしに許されている。しかし、すべてのことが益になるわけではない。すべてのことは、わたしに許されている。しかし、わたしは何ものにも支配されることはない。 | All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. |
| 13 | 食物は腹のため、腹は食物のためである。しかし神は、それもこれも滅ぼすであろう。からだは不品行のためではなく、主のためであり、主はからだのためである。 | Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. |

| 15 | あなたがたは自分のからだがキリストの肢体であることを、知らないのか。それだのに、キリストの肢体を取って遊女の肢体としてよいのか。断じていけない。 | Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. |
| 16 | それとも、遊女につく者はそれと一つのからだになることを、知らないのか。「ふたりの者は一体となるべきである」とあるからである。 | What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. |
| 17 | しかし主につく者は、主と一つの霊になるのである。 | But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. |
| 18 | 不品行を避けなさい。人の犯すすべての罪は、からだの外にある。しかし不品行をする者は、自分のからだに対して罪を犯すのである。 | Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. |
| 19 | あなたがたは知らないのか。自分のからだは、神から受けて自分の内に宿っている聖霊の宮であって、あなたがたは、もはや自分自身のものではないのである。 | What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? |
| 20 | あなたがたは、代価を払って買いとられたのだ。それだから、自分のからだをもって、神の栄光をあらわしなさい。 | For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. |
