| 1 | 自由を得させるために、キリストはわたしたちを解放して下さったのである。だから、堅く立って、二度と奴隷のくびきにつながれてはならない。 | Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. |
| 2 | 見よ、このパウロがあなたがたに言う。もし割礼を受けるなら、キリストはあなたがたに用のないものになろう。 | Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. |
| 3 | 割礼を受けようとするすべての人たちに、もう一度言っておく。そういう人たちは、律法の全部を行う義務がある。 | For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. |
| 4 | 律法によって義とされようとするあなたがたは、キリストから離れてしまっている。恵みから落ちている。 | Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. |
| 5 | わたしたちは、御霊の助けにより、信仰によって義とされる望みを強くいだいている。 | For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. |
| 6 | キリスト・イエスにあっては、割礼があってもなくても、問題ではない。尊いのは、愛によって働く信仰だけである。 | For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. |
| 7 | あなたがたはよく走り続けてきたのに、だれが邪魔をして、真理にそむかせたのか。 | Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? |
| 8 | そのような勧誘は、あなたがたを召されたかたから出たものではない。 | This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. |
| 9 | 少しのパン種でも、粉のかたまり全体をふくらませる。 | A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. |
| 10 | あなたがたはいささかもわたしと違った思いをいだくことはないと、主にあって信頼している。しかし、あなたがたを動揺させている者は、それがだれであろうと、さばきを受けるであろう。 | I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. |
| 11 | 兄弟たちよ。わたしがもし今でも割礼を宣べ伝えていたら、どうして、いまなお迫害されるはずがあろうか。そうしていたら、十字架のつまずきは、なくなっているであろう。 | And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. |

| 13 | 兄弟たちよ。あなたがたが召されたのは、実に、自由を得るためである。ただ、その自由を、肉の働く機会としないで、愛をもって互に仕えなさい。 | For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. |
| 14 | 律法の全体は、「自分を愛するように、あなたの隣り人を愛せよ」というこの一句に尽きるからである。 | For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. |
| 15 | 気をつけるがよい。もし互にかみ合い、食い合っているなら、あなたがたは互に滅ぼされてしまうだろう。 | But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. |
| 16 | わたしは命じる、御霊によって歩きなさい。そうすれば、決して肉の欲を満たすことはない。 | This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. |
| 17 | なぜなら、肉の欲するところは御霊に反し、また御霊の欲するところは肉に反するからである。こうして、二つのものは互に相さからい、その結果、あなたがたは自分でしようと思うことを、することができないようになる。 | For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. |

| 20 | 偶像礼拝、まじない、敵意、争い、そねみ、怒り、党派心、分裂、分派、 | Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, |
| 21 | ねたみ、泥酔、宴楽、および、そのたぐいである。わたしは以前も言ったように、今も前もって言っておく。このようなことを行う者は、神の国をつぐことがない。 | Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. |
