1 こうした事ののち，イエスはティベリアスの海で，再び自分を弟子たちに示した。彼はこのやり方で自分を示した。 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.
2 シモン・ペトロと，ディディモスと呼ばれるトマス，ガリラヤのカナのナタナエル，それにゼベダイの子たちと弟子たちのうちのもう二人が一緒にいた。 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.
3 シモン・ペトロが彼らに言った，「わたしは漁に行く」。 彼らはペトロに言った，「わたしたちもあなたと共に行こう」。すぐに彼らは出て行き，舟に乗り込んだ。その夜は何も捕れなかった。 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
4 しかし，すでに日が昇って来た時，イエスが浜辺に立ったが，弟子たちはそれがイエスだと分からなかった。 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
5 それでイエスは彼らに言った，「子供たち，何か食べる物があるか」 。 彼らは彼に「ありません」と答えた。 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.
6 彼は彼らに言った，「網を舟の右側に降ろしなさい。そうすれば幾らか見つかるだろう」 。 それで彼らはそれを降ろした。すると，多くの魚のために，彼らはそれを引き上げることができなかった。 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
7 それで，イエスが愛していた弟子がペトロに言った，「主だ！」 そこでシモン・ペトロは，主だと聞くと，（裸だったので）自分の上着をまとい，海の中に飛び込んだ。 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
8 しかし，ほかの弟子たちは（陸から遠くなく，二百キュビトほどだったので），魚でいっぱいの網を引いて，小舟でやって来た。 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
9 そこで彼らが陸に上がると，そこに炭火があり，その上に魚とパンがあるのを見た。 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
10 イエスは彼らに言った，「今捕った魚を少し持って来なさい」 。 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.
11 シモン・ペトロは舟に上がり，百五十三匹の大きな魚でいっぱいの網を陸に引き寄せた。そして，それほど多かったのに，網は裂けていなかった。 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
12 イエスは彼らに言った，「来て，朝食をとりなさい」 。 弟子たちのうちのだれも，「あなたはどなたですか」とあえて尋ねる者はいなかった。主だと分かっていたからである。 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
13 それからイエスは来て，パンを取り，彼らにそれを与え，魚も同じようにした。 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
14 ところで，イエスが死んだ者たちの中から起こされたのちに弟子たちに示されたのは，これが三度目であった。 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
15 そこで彼らが朝食を食べ終わると，イエスはシモン・ペトロに言った，「ヨナの子シモン，あなたはこれら以上にわたしを愛しているか」 。 彼はイエスに言った，「はい，主よ。わたしがあなたに愛情を抱いていることを，あなたは知っておられます」。 イエスは彼に言った，「わたしの子羊たちを養いなさい」 。 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
16 また二度目にイエスは彼に言った，「ヨナの子シモン，あなたはわたしを愛しているか」 。 彼はイエスに言った，「はい，主よ。わたしがあなたに愛情を抱いていることを，あなたは知っておられます」。 イエスは彼に言った，「わたしの羊たちを世話しなさい」 。 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
17 三度目にイエスは彼に言った，「ヨナの子シモン，あなたはわたしに愛情を抱いているか」 。 ペトロは，イエスが三度目に「あなたはわたしに愛情を抱いているか」 と尋ねたことで悲しんだ。彼はイエスに言った，「主よ，あなたはすべてのことを知っておられます。わたしがあなたに愛情を抱いていることを，あなたは知っておられます」。 イエスは彼に言った，「わたしの羊たちを養いなさい。 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
18 本当にはっきりとあなたに言う。あなたは若かったとき，自分で服を着て，自分の望む所を歩いた。だが年を取ると，あなたは両手を広げ，ほかの人があなたに服を着せ，自分が行くのを望まない所に連れて行くだろう」 。 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.
19 ところで，彼がこのことを言ったのは，ペトロがどんな死に方で神の栄光を現わすことになるかを示すためであった。このことを言ってから，彼は言った，「わたしに従いなさい」 。 This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
20 それからペトロは振り向いて，一人の弟子が付いて来るのを見た。これは，イエスが心から愛していた弟子で，夕食の際にイエスの胸にもたれて，「主よ，だれがあなたを売り渡そうとしているのですか」と尋ねた者でもあった。 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?
21 彼を見て，ペトロはイエスに言った，「主よ，この人についてはどうですか」。 Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
22 イエスは彼に言った，「わたしが来るまで彼がとどまることをわたしが望むとしても，それがあなたにとって何なのか。あなたはわたしに従いなさい」 。 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
23 それで，この弟子は死なないというこの言葉が兄弟たちの間に広まった。しかしイエスは，彼は死なないと言ったのではなく，「わたしが来るまで彼がとどまることをわたしが望むとしても，それがあなたにとって何なのか」 と言ったのである。 Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?
24 この者が，これらの事について証言し，これらの事を書いた弟子である。わたしたちは，彼の証言が真実だということを知っている。 This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
25 イエスが行なった事柄はほかにもたくさんあるが，それらが全部書かれるとすれば，世界そのものでさえも，その書かれる書物を収めることはできないだろうと，わたしは思う。 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
