| 1 | さて，安息日ののち，週の初めの日が明け始めるころ，マリア・マグダレネともう一人のマリアが墓を見に来た。 | In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. |
| 2 | 見よ，大きな地震が起きた。というのは，主のみ使いが天から降りて来て近寄り，入り口から石を転がして，その上に座ったからである。 | And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. |
| 3 | 彼の外見はいなずまのようであり，彼の衣は雪のように白かった。 | His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: |
| 4 | 警備兵たちは，彼に対する恐れのために震え上がり，死んだようになっていた。 | And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. |
| 5 | み使いは女たちに答えた，「恐れてはいけない。あなた方がはりつけにされたイエスを探していることを，わたしは知っているのだ。 | And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. |
| 6 | 彼はここにはいない。彼は，自分で言ったとおり，起こされたからだ。さあ，主の横たえられた場所を見なさい。 | He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. |
| 7 | 急いで行って，彼の弟子たちに，『彼は死んだ者たちの中から起こされた。そして見よ，彼はあなた方より先にガリラヤへ行く。あなた方はそこで彼を見るだろう』と告げなさい。見よ，わたしはあなた方に告げた」。 | And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. |
| 8 | 彼女たちは，恐れと大きな喜びをもって，急いで墓を立ち去り，弟子たちに知らせるために走って行った。 | And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. |
| 9 | 彼女たちが弟子たちに告げに行く途中で，見よ，イエスが彼女たちに出会って，「喜べ！」 と言った。 彼女たちは近づいてその両足を抱き，彼を拝んだ。 | And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. |
| 10 | その時イエスは彼女たちに言った，「恐れてはいけない。行って，わたしの兄弟たちにガリラヤに行くように告げなさい。彼らはそこでわたしを見るだろう」 。 | Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. |

| 12 | 彼らは長老たちと集まって相談したのち，兵士たちに多額のお金を与えて， | And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, |
| 13 | こう言った。「彼の弟子たちが夜中にやって来て，自分たちが眠っている間に彼を盗んで行った，と言え。 | Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. |
| 14 | もしこのことが総督の耳に入っても，我々が説得して，お前たちには迷惑がかからないようにしてやろう」。 | And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. |
| 15 | そこで，彼らはお金を受け取って，告げられたとおりにした。この話はユダヤ人たちの間に広まって，今日に至っている。 | So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. |
| 16 | しかし，十一人の弟子たちはガリラヤに行って，イエスが彼らに伝えておいた山に上った。 | Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. |
| 17 | 彼を見ると，彼らは彼に身をかがめた。しかし，ある者たちは疑った。 | And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. |
| 18 | イエスは近寄って来て，彼らに話して言った，「わたしには天と地のあらゆる権威が与えられた。 | And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. |
| 19 | だから，行って，あらゆる民族の人々を弟子とし，父と子と聖霊の名において彼らにバプテスマを施し， | Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: |
| 20 | わたしがあなた方に命じたすべての事柄を守るように教えなさい。見よ，わたしは，この時代の終わりまで，いつもあなた方と共にいるのだ」 。アーメン。 | Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. |
