| 1 | ファリサイ人たちとサドカイ人たちがやって来て，彼を試そうとして，天からのしるしを見せるようにと彼に求めた。 | The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. |
| 2 | しかし，彼は彼らに答えた，「あなた方は，夕方になると，『晴天になるだろう，空が赤いから』と言う。 | He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. |
| 3 | 朝には，『今日は荒れ模様だろう，空が赤くてどんよりとしているから』と言う。偽善者たち！ あなた方は空模様の見分け方は知っていながら，時のしるしは見分けられないのだ！ | And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? |

| 6 | イエスは彼らに言った，「ファリサイ人たちとサドカイ人たちのパン種に注意し，用心しなさい」 。 | Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. |
| 7 | 彼らは互いに論じ合って言った，「我々はパンを持って来なかった」。 | And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. |
| 8 | それに気づいて，イエスは言った，「なぜあなた方は，『パンを持っていないからだ』などと互いに論じ合っているのか，信仰の少ない者たちよ。 | Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? |
| 9 | まだ気づかないのか。覚えていないのか。五千人のための五つのパン，そしてあなた方が幾つのかごに拾い集めたかを。 | Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? |
| 10 | また，四千人のための七つのパン，そしてあなた方が幾つのかごに拾い集めたかを。 | Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? |
| 11 | あなた方にパンについて話したのではないことが，どうして分からないのか。ただ，ファリサイ人たちとサドカイ人たちのパン種に用心しなさい」 。 | How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? |

| 17 | イエスは彼に言った，「シモン・バルヨナ，あなたは幸いだ。あなたにこのことを明らかにしたのは肉と血ではなく，天におられるわたしの父だからだ。 | And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. |
| 18 | わたしもあなたに告げるが，あなたはペトロであり，この岩の上にわたしは自分の集会を建てる。ハデスの門もそれに打ち勝たない。 | And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. |
| 19 | わたしはあなたに天の王国のかぎを与えよう。そして，あなたが地上で縛るものは天でも縛られ，あなたが地上で解くものは天でも解かれるだろう」 。 | And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. |
| 20 | それから，自分がキリストだということをだれにも告げないようにと弟子たちに命じた。 | Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. |
| 21 | その時以後，イエスは，自分がエルサレムに行き，長老たちや祭司長たちや律法学者たちから多くの苦しみを受け，かつ殺され，そして三日後に起こされなければならないことを，弟子たちに示し始めた。 | From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. |
| 22 | ペトロは彼をわきに連れて行き，彼をしかり始めて言った，「主よ，とんでもありません！ あなたには決してそんなことは起きないでしょう」。 | Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. |
| 23 | しかし，彼は背を向けてペトロに言った。「わたしの後ろに下がれ，サタンよ！ あなたはわたしのつまづきの石だ。あなたは神の物事ではなく，人間の物事を考えているからだ」 。 | But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. |
| 24 | それからイエスは弟子たちに言った，「だれでもわたしに付いて来たいと思うなら，その人は自分を否定し，自分の十字架を取り上げて，わたしに従いなさい。 | Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. |
| 25 | 自分の命を救おうと思う者はそれを失うことになり，わたしのために自分の命を失う者はそれを見いだすことになるからだ。 | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. |
| 26 | というのも，人が全世界を手に入れても，自分の命を失うなら，何の益になるだろうか。人は自分の命と引き換えにいったい何を支払うというのか。 | For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? |
| 27 | 人の子は，自分の父の栄光のうちに自分の使いたちと共に来るが，その時，彼はすべての人にその行ないに従って報いるのだ。 | For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. |
| 28 | 本当にはっきりとあなた方に告げる。ここに立っている者の中には，人の子が自分の王国のうちに来るのを見るまでは決して死を味わわない者たちがいる」 。 | Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. |
