1 ヤコブその子等を呼ていひけるは汝らあつまれ我後の日に汝らが遇んところの事を汝等につげん And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
2 汝等つどひて聽けヤコブの子等よ汝らの父イスラエルに聽け Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
3 ルベン汝はわが冢子わが勢わが力の始威光の卓越たる者權威の卓越たる者なり Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
4 汝は水の沸あがるがごとき者なれば卓越を得ざるべし汝父の床にのぼりて浼したればなり嗚呼彼はわが寢牀にのぼれり Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
5 シメオン、レビは兄弟なりその劍は暴逆の器なり Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.
6 我魂よかれらの席にのぞむなかれ我寶よかれらの集會につらなるなかれ其は彼等その怒にまかせて人をころしその意にまかせて牛を筋截たればなり O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
7 その怒は烈しかれば詛ふべしその憤は暴あれば詛ふべし我彼らをヤコブの中に分ちイスラエルの中に散さん Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
8 ユダよ汝は兄弟の讚る者なり汝の手はなんぢの敵の頸を抑へんなんぢの父の子等なんぢの前に鞠ん Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee.
9 ユダは獅子の子の如しわが子よ汝は所掠物をさきてかへりのぼる彼は牡獅子のごとく伏し牝獅のごとく蹲まる誰か之をおこすことをせん Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
10 杖ユダを離れず法を立る者その足の間をはなるることなくしてシロの來る時にまでおよばん彼に諸の民したがふべし The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
11 彼その驢馬を葡萄の樹に繋ぎその牝驢馬の子を葡萄の蔓に繋がん又その衣を酒にあらひ其服を葡萄の汁にあらふべし Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
12 その目は酒によりて紅くその齒は乳によりて白し His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
13 ゼブルンは海邊にすみ舟の泊る海邊に住はんその界はシドンにおよぶべし Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon.
14 イッサカルは羊の牢の間に伏す健き驢馬の如し Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:
15 彼みて安泰を善としその國を樂とし肩をさげて負ひ租税をいだして僕となるべし And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.
16 ダンはイスラエルの他の支派の如く其民を鞫かん Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 ダンは路の旁の蛇のごとく途邊にある蝮のごとし馬の踵を噛てその騎者をして後に落しむ Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
18 ヱホバよわれ汝の拯救を待り I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord.
19 ガドは軍勢これにせまらんされど彼返てその後にせまらん Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.
20 アセルよりいづる食物は美るべし彼王の食ふ美味をいださん Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.
21 ナフタリは釋れたる麀のごとし彼美言をいだすなり Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.
22 ヨセフは實を結ぶ樹の芽のごとし即ち泉の傍にある實をむすぶ樹の芽のごとしその枝つひに垣を踰ゆ Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
23 射者彼をなやまし彼を射かれを惡めり The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
24 然どかれの弓はなほ勁くあり彼の手の臂は力あり是ヤコブの全能者の手によりてなり其よりイスラエルの磐なる牧者いづ But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
25 汝の父の神による彼なんぢを助けん全能者による彼なんぢを祝まん上なる天の福、下によこたはる淵の福、乳哺の福、胎の福、汝にきたるべし Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
26 父の汝を祝することはわが父祖の祝したる所に勝て恒久の山の限極にまでおよばん是等の祝福はヨセフの首に歸しその兄弟と別になりたる者の頭頂に歸すべし The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
27 ベニヤミンは物を噛む狼なり朝にその所掠物を啖ひ夕にその所攫物をわかたん Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.
28 是等はイスラエルの十二の支派なり斯その父彼らに語り彼等を祝せりすなはちその祝すべき所にしたがひて彼等諸人を祝せり All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.
29 ヤコブまた彼等に命じて之にいひけるは我はわが民にくははらんとすヘテ人エフロンの田にある洞穴にわが先祖等とともに我をはうむれ And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
30 その洞穴はカナンの地にてマムレのまへなるマクペラの田にあり是はアブラハムがヘテ人エフロンより田とともに購て所有の墓所となせし者なり In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.
31 アブラハムとその妻サラ彼處にはうむられイサクとその妻リベカ彼處に葬られたり我またかしこにレアを葬れり There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.
32 彼田とその中の洞穴はヘテの子孫より購たる者なり The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth.
33 ヤコブその子に命ずることを終し時足を床に斂めて氣たえてその民にくははる And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
