1 願くはなんぢ天を裂てくだり給へ なんぢのみまへに山々ふるひ動かんことを Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
2 火の柴をもやし火の水を沸すがごとくして降りたまへ かくて名をなんぢの敵にあらはし もろもろの國をなんぢのみまへに戰慄かしめたまへ As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
3 汝われらが逆料あたはざる懼るべき事をおこなひ給ひしときに降りたまへり 山々はその前にふるひうごけり When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
4 上古よりこのかた汝のほかに何なる神ありて俟望みたる者にかかる事をおこなひしや いまだ聽ず いまだ耳にいらず いまだ目にみしことなし For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
5 汝はよろこびて義をおこなひなんぢの途にありてなんぢを紀念するものを迎へたまふ 視よなんぢ怒りたまへり われらは罪ををかせり かかる狀なること旣にひさし 我儕いかで救はるるを得んや Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
6 我儕はみな潔からざる物のごとくなり われらの義はことごとく汚れたる衣のごとし 我儕はみな木葉のごとく枯れ われらのよこしまは暴風のごとく我らを吹去れり But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
7 なんぢの名をよぶ者なく みづから勵みて汝によりすがる者なし なんぢ面をおほひてわれらを顧みたまはず われらが邪曲をもてわれらを消失せしめたまへり And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
8 されどヱホバよ汝はわれらの父なり われらは泥塊にしてなんぢは陶工なり 我らは皆なんぢの御手のわざなり But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
9 ヱホバよいたく怒りたまふなかれ 永くよこしまを記念したまふなかれ 願くは顧みたまへ 我儕はみななんぢの民なり Be not wroth very sore, O Lord, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
10 汝のきよき諸邑は野となりシオンは野となりヱルサレムは荒廢れたり Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
11 我らの先祖が汝を讃たたへたる榮光ある我儕のきよき宮は火にやかれ 我儕のしたひたる處はことごとく荒はてたり Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
12 ヱホバよこれらの事あれども汝なほみづから制へたまふや なんぢなほ默してわれらに深くくるしみを受しめたまふや Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O Lord? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?
