| 1 | ねがはくは汝わが母の乳をのみしわが兄弟のごとくならんことを われ戸外にてなんぢに遇ふとき接吻せん 然するとも誰ありてわれをいやしむるものあらじ | O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised. |
| 2 | われ汝をひきてわが母の家にいたり 汝より敎晦をうけん 我かぐはしき酒 石榴のあまき汁をなんぢに飮しめん | I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother’s house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate. |
| 3 | かれが左の手はわが頭の下にあり その右の手をもて我を抱く | His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me. |
| 4 | ヱルサレムの女子等よ 我なんぢ等に誓ひて請ふ 愛のおのづから起る時まで殊更に喚起し且つ醒すなかれ | I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, until he please. |
| 5 | おのれの愛する者に倚かかりて荒野より上りきたる者は誰ぞや 林檎の樹の下にてわれなんぢを喚さませり なんぢの母かしこにて汝のために劬勞をなし なんぢを產し者かしこにて劬勞をなしぬ | Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee. |
| 6 | われを汝の心におきて印のごとくし なんぢの腕におきて印のごとくせよ 其の愛は強くして死のごとく 嫉妬は堅くして陰府にひとし その熖は火のほのほのごとし いともはげしき熖なり | Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. |
| 7 | 愛は大水も消ことあたはず 洪水も溺らすことあたはず 人その家の一切の物をことごとく與へて愛に換んとするとも尚いやしめらるべし | Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned. |
| 8 | われら小さき妹子あり 未だ乳房あらず われらの妹子の問聘をうくる日には之に何をなしてあたへんや | We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for? |
| 9 | かれもし石垣ならんには我ら白銀の城をその上にたてん 彼もし戸ならんには香柏の板をもてこれを圍まん | If she be a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she be a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar. |
| 10 | われは石垣わが乳房は戍樓のごとし 是をもてわれは情をかうむれる者のごとく彼の目の前にありき | I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour. |
| 11 | バアルハモンにソロモンの葡萄園をもてり これをその守る者等にあづけおき 彼等をしておのおの銀一千をその果のために納めしむ | Solomon had a vineyard at Baal–hamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver. |
| 12 | われ自らの有なる葡萄園われの手にあり ソロモンなんぢは一千を獲よ その果をまもる者も二百を獲べし | My vineyard, which is mine, is before me: thou, O Solomon, must have a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred. |
| 13 | なんぢ園の中に住む者よ 伴侶等なんぢの聲に耳をかたむく 請ふ我にこれを聽しめよ | Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear it. |
| 14 | わが愛する者よ 請ふ急ぎはしれ 香はしき山々の上にありて獐のごとく 小鹿のごとくあれ | Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices. |
