| 1 | ヱホバ、モーセに告て言給はく | And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, |
| 2 | 汝イスラエルの子孫に語り之が中よりその各箇の父祖の家にしたがひて杖一本づつを取れ即ちその一切の牧伯等よりその父祖の家に循ひて杖都合十二本を取りその人等の名を各々その杖に書せ | Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod. |
| 3 | レビの杖には汝アロンの名を書せ其はその父祖の家の長たる者各箇杖一本を出すべければなり | And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. |
| 4 | 而して集會の幕屋の中我が汝等に會ふ處なる律法の櫃の前に汝之を置べし | And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you. |
| 5 | 我が選める人の杖は芽さん我かくイスラエルの子孫が汝等にむかひて呟くところの怨言をわが前に止むべし | And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you. |
| 6 | モーセかくイスラエルの子孫に語りければその牧伯等おのおの杖一本づつを之に付せり即ち牧伯等おのおのその父祖の家にしたがひて一本づつを出したればその杖あはせて十二本アロンの杖もその杖の中にあり | And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. |
| 7 | モーセその杖を皆律法の幕屋の中にてヱホバの前に置り | And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness. |
| 8 | 斯てその翌日モーセ律法の幕屋にいりて視るにレビの家のために出せるアロンの杖芽をふき蕾をなし花咲て巴旦杏の果を結べり | And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. |
| 9 | モーセその杖をことごとくヱホバの前よりイスラエルの子孫の所に取いだしければ彼ら見ておのおの自分の杖を取り | And Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod. |
| 10 | 時にヱホバまたモーセに言たまはく汝アロンの杖を律法の櫃の前に携へかヘり其處にたくはへ置てこの背反者等のために徴とならしめよ斯して汝かれらの怨言を全く取のぞきかれらをして死ざらしむべし | And the Lord said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. |
| 11 | モーセすなはち然なしヱホバの己に命じたまへる如くせり | And Moses did so: as the Lord commanded him, so did he. |
| 12 | イスラエルの子孫モーセに語りて曰ふ嗚呼我等は死ん我等は滅びん我等はみな滅びん | And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish. |
| 13 | 凡そヱホバの幕屋に微にても近く者はみな死るなり我等はみな死斷べき歟 | Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the Lord shall die: shall we be consumed with dying? |
