| 1 | 我言ふヤコブの首領よイスラエルの家の侯伯よ 汝ら聽け公義は汝らの知べきことに非ずや | And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment? |
| 2 | 汝らは善を惡み惡を好み民の身より皮を剥ぎ骨より肉を剔り | Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; |
| 3 | 我民の肉を食ひその皮を剥ぎその骨を碎きこれを切きざみて鍋に入る物のごとくし鼎の中にいるる肉のごとくす | Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. |
| 4 | 然ば彼時に彼らヱホバに呼はるともヱホバかれらに應へたまはじ 却てその時には面を彼らに隱したまはん 彼らの行惡ければなり | Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. |
| 5 | 我民を惑す預言者は齒にて噛べき物を受る時は平安あらんと呼はれども何をもその口に與へざる者にむかひては戰門の準備をなす ヱホバ彼らにつきて斯いひたまふ | Thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him. |
| 6 | 然ば汝らは夜に遭べし 復異象を得じ 黑暗に遭べし 復卜兆を得じ 日はその預言者の上をはなれて沒りその上は晝も暗かるべし | Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. |
| 7 | 見者は愧を抱き卜者は面を赧らめ皆共にその唇を掩はん 神の垂應あらざればなり | Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. |
| 8 | 然れども我はヱホバの御靈によりて能力身に滿ち公義および勇氣衷に滿ればヤコブにその愆を示しイスラエルにその罪を示すことを得 | But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin. |
| 9 | ヤコブの家の首領等およびイスラエルの家の牧伯等公義を惡み一切の正直事を曲る者よ汝ら之を聽け | Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. |
| 10 | 彼らは血をもてシオンを建て不義をもてエルサレムを建つ | They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. |
| 11 | その首領等は賄賂をとりて審判をなしその祭司等は値錢を取て敎晦をなす 又その預言者等は銀子を取て占卜を爲しヱホバに倚賴みて云ふヱホバわれらと偕に在すにあらずや 然ば災禍われらに降らじと | The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us? none evil can come upon us. |
| 12 | 是によりてシオンは汝のゆゑに田圃となりて耕へされエルサレムは石堆となり宮の山は樹の生しげる高處とならん | Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. |
