1 さて過越と除酵との祭の二日 前となりぬ。祭司長・學者ら詭計をもてイエスを捕へ、かつ殺さんと企てて言ふ After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
2 『祭の間は爲すべからず、恐らくは民の亂あるべし』 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
3 イエス、ベタニヤに在して、癩病人シモンの家にて食事の席につき居給ふとき、或 女、價 高き混なきナルドの香 油の入りたる石膏の壺を持ち來り、その壺を毀ちてイエスの首に注ぎたり。 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
4 ある人々、憤ほりて互に言ふ『なに故かく濫に油を費すか、 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
5 この油を三 百デナリ餘に賣りて、貧しき者に施すことを得たりしものを』而して甚く女を咎む。 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
6 イエス言ひ給ふ『その爲すに任せよ、何ぞこの女を惱すか、我に善き事をなせり。 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
7 貧しき者は常に汝らと偕にをれば、何時にても心のままに助け得べし、されど我は常に汝らと偕にをらず。 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
8 此の女は、なし得る限をなして、我が體に香 油をそそぎ、あらかじめ葬りの備をなせり。 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
9 まことに汝らに告ぐ、全世界いづこにても、福音の宣傅へらるる處には、この女の爲しし事も記念として語らるべし』 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
10 ここに十二 弟子の一人なるイスカリオテのユダ、イエスを賣らんとて祭司長の許にゆく。 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.
11 彼 等これを聞きて喜び、銀を與へんと約したれば、ユダ如何にしてか機 好くイエスを付さんと謀る。 And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.
12 除酵祭の初の日、即ち過越の羔羊を屠るべき日、弟子たちイエスに言ふ『過越の食をなし給ふために、我らが何處に往きて備ふることを望み給ふか』 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
13 イエス二人の弟子を遣さんとして言ひたまふ『都に往け、然らば水をいれたる瓶を持つ人、なんぢらに遇ふべし。之に從ひ往き、 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
14 その入る所の家主に「師いふ、われ弟子らと共に過越の食をなすべき座敷は何處なるか」と言へ。 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
15 さらば調へ備へたる大なる二階 座敷を見すべし。其處に我らのために備へよ』 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.
16 弟子たち出で往きて都に入り、イエスの言ひ給ひし如くなるを見て、過越の設備をなせり。 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
17 日 暮れてイエス十二 弟子とともに往き、 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.
18 みな席に就きて食するとき言ひ給ふ『まことに汝らに告ぐ、我と共に食する汝らの中の一人、われを賣らん』 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
19 弟子たち憂ひて一人 一人『われなるか』と言ひ出でしに、 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?
20 イエス言ひたまふ『十二のうちの一人にて、我と共にパンを鉢に浸す者は夫なり。 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.
21 實に人の子は己に就きて録されたる如く逝くなり。されど人の子を賣る者は禍害なるかな、その人は生れざりし方よかりしものを』 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.
22 彼ら食しをる時、イエス、パンを取り、祝してさき、弟子たちに與へて言ひたまふ『取れ、これは我が體なり』 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
23 また酒杯を取り、謝して彼らに與へ給へば、皆この酒杯より飮めり。 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
24 また言ひ給ふ『これは契約の我が血、おほくの人の爲に流す所のものなり。 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
25 まことに汝らに告ぐ、神の國にて新しきものを飮む日までは、われ葡萄の果より成るものを飮まじ』 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
26 かれら讃美をうたひて後、オリブ山に出でゆく。 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
27 イエス弟子たちに言ひ給ふ『なんぢら皆 躓かん、それは「われ牧羊者を打たん、さらば羊 散るべし」と録されたるなり。 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.
28 されど我よみがへりて後、なんぢらに先だちてガリラヤに往かん』 But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
29 時にペテロ、イエスに言ふ『假令みな躓くとも、我は然らじ』 But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.
30 イエス言ひ給ふ『まことに汝に告ぐ、今日この夜、鷄ふたたび鳴く前に、なんぢ三たび我を否むべし』 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.
31 ペテロ力をこめて言ふ『われ汝とともに死ぬべき事ありとも、汝を否まず』弟子たち皆かく言へり。 But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.
32 彼らゲツセマネと名づくる處に到りし時、イエス弟子たちに言ひ給ふ『わが祈る間、ここに座せよ』 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
33 かくてペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネを伴ひゆき、甚く驚き、かつ悲しみ出でて言ひ給ふ And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;
34 『わが心いたく憂ひて死ぬばかりなり、汝ら此處に留りて目を覺しをれ』 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
35 少し進みゆきて、地に平伏し、若しも得べくば此の時の己より過ぎ往かんことを祈りて言ひ給ふ And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
36 『アバ父よ、父には能はぬ事なし、此の酒杯を我より取り去り給へ。されど我が意のままを成さんとにあらず、御意のままを成し給へ』 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
37 來りて、その眠れるを見、ペテロに言ひ給ふ『シモンよ、なんぢ眠るか、一 時も目を覺しをること能はぬか。 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?
38 なんぢら誘惑に陷らぬやう、目を覺しかつ祈れ。實に心は熱すれども肉體よわきなり』 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
39 再びゆき、同じ言にて祈り給ふ。 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.
40 また來りて彼らの眠れるを見たまふ、是その目いたく疲れたるなり、彼ら何と答ふべきかを知らざりき。 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.
41 三度 來りて言ひたまふ『今は眠りて休め、足れり、時きたれり、視よ、人の子は罪人らの手に付さるるなり。 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
42 起て、われらは往くべし。視よ、我を賣る者ちかづけり』 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.
43 なほ語りゐ給ふほどに、十二 弟子の一人なるユダ、やがて近づき來る、祭司長・學者・長老らより遣されたる群衆、劍と棒とを持ちて之に伴ふ。 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
44 イエスを賣るもの、あらかじめ合圖を示して言ふ『わが接吻する者はそれなり、之を捕へて確と引きゆけ』 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.
45 かくて來りて直ちに御許に往き『ラビ』と言ひて接吻したれば、 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.
46 人々イエスに手をかけて捕ふ。 And they laid their hands on him, and took him.
47 傍らに立つ者のひとり、劍を拔き、大 祭司の僕を撃ちて、耳を切り落せり。 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
48 イエス人々に對ひて言ひ給ふ『なんぢら強盜にむかふ如く、劍と棒とを持ち、我を捕へんとて出で來るか。 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?
49 我は日々なんぢらと偕に宮にありて教へたりしに、我を執へざりき、されど是は聖書の言の成就せん爲なり』 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.
50 其のとき弟子みなイエスを棄てて逃げ去る。 And they all forsook him, and fled.
51 ある若者、素肌に亞麻 布を纏ひて、イエスに從ひたりしに、人々これを捕へければ、 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:
52 亞麻 布を棄て裸にて逃げ去れり。 And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.
53 人々イエスを大 祭司の許に曳き往きたれば、祭司長・長老・學者ら皆あつまる。 And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
54 ペテロ遠く離れてイエスに從ひ、大 祭司の中庭まで入り、下役どもと共に坐して火に煖まりゐたり。 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.
55 さて祭司長ら及び全 議會、イエスを死に定めんとて、證據を求むれども得ず。 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.
56 それはイエスに對して僞證する者 多くあれども、其の證據あはざりしなり。 For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.
57 遂に或 者ども起ちて僞證して言ふ And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,
58 『われら此の人の「われは手にて造りたる此の宮を毀ち、手にて造らぬ他の宮を三日にて建つべし」と云へるを聞けり』 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.
59 然れど尚この證據もあはざりき。 But neither so did their witness agree together.
60 ここに大 祭司、中に立ちイエスに問ひて言ふ『なんぢ何をも答へぬか、此の人々の立つる證據は如何に』 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
61 されどイエス默して何をも答へ給はず。大 祭司ふたたび問ひて言ふ『なんぢは頌むべきものの子キリストなるか』 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
62 イエス言ひ給ふ『われは夫なり、汝ら、人の子の全能者の右に坐し、天の雲の中にありて來るを見ん』 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
63 此のとき大 祭司おのが衣を裂きて言ふ『なんぞ他に證人を求めん。 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?
64 なんぢら此の瀆言を聞けり、如何に思ふか』かれら擧りてイエスを死に當るべきものと定む。 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
65 而して或 者どもはイエスに唾し、又その顏を蔽ひ、拳にて搏ちなど爲始めて言ふ『預言せよ』下役どもイエスを受け、手掌にてうてり。 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.
66 ペテロ下にて中庭にをりしに、大 祭司の婢女の一人きたりて、 And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:
67 ペテロの火に煖まりをるを見、これに目を注めて『汝もかのナザレ人イエスと偕に居たり』と言ふ。 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.
68 ペテロ肯はずして『われは汝の言ふことを知らず、又その意をも悟らず』と言ひて庭 口に出でたり。 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.
69 婢女かれを見て、また傍らに立つ者どもに『この人はかの黨與なり』と言ひ出でしに、 And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.
70 ペテロ重ねて肯はず、暫くしてまた傍らに立つ者どもペテロに言ふ『なんぢは慥にかの黨與なり、汝もガリラヤ人なり』 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.
71 此の時ペテロ盟ひかつ誓ひて『われは汝らの言ふ其の人を知らず』と言ひ出づ。 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.
72 その折しも、また鷄なきぬ。ペテロ『にはとり二度なく前に、なんぢ三度われを否まん』とイエスの言ひ給ひし御言を思ひいだし、思ひ反して泣きたり。 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
