| 1 | その時、無數の人あつまりて、群衆ふみ合ふばかりなり。イエスまづ弟子たちに言ひ出で給ふ『なんぢら、パリサイ人のパンだねに心せよ、これ僞善なり。 | In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. |
| 2 | 蔽はれたるものに露れぬはなく、隱れたるものに知られぬはなし。 | For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. |
| 3 | この故に汝らが暗きにて言ふことは、明るきにて聞え、部屋の内にて耳によりて語りしことは、屋の上にて宣べらるべし。 | Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. |
| 4 | 我が友たる汝らに告ぐ。身を殺して後に何をも爲し得ぬ者どもを懼るな。 | And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. |
| 5 | 懼るべきものを汝らに示さん。殺したる後ゲヘナに投げ入るる權威ある者を懼れよ。われ汝らに告ぐ、げに之を懼れよ。 | But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. |
| 6 | 五 羽の雀は二錢にて賣るにあらずや、然るに其の一 羽だに神の前に忘れらるる事なし。 | Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? |
| 7 | 汝らの頭の髮までもみな數へらる。懼るな、汝らは多くの雀よりも優るるなり。 | But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. |
| 8 | われ汝らに告ぐ、凡そ人の前に我を言ひあらはす者を、人の子もまた神の使たちの前にて言ひあらはさん。 | Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: |
| 9 | されど人の前にて我を否む者は、神の使たちの前にて否まれん。 | But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. |
| 10 | 凡そ言をもて人の子に逆ふ者は赦されん。されど聖 靈を瀆すものは赦されじ。 | And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. |
| 11 | 人なんぢらを會堂、或は司、あるひは權威ある者の前に引きゆかん時、いかに何を答へ、または何を言はんと思ひ煩ふな。 | And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: |
| 12 | 聖 靈そのとき言ふべきことを教へ給はん』 | For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. |
| 13 | 群衆のうちの或 人いふ『師よ、わが兄弟に命じて、嗣業を我に分たしめ給へ』 | And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. |
| 14 | 之に言ひたまふ『人よ、誰が我を立てて汝らの裁判人また分配 者とせしぞ』 | And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? |
| 15 | かくて人々に言ひたまふ『愼みて凡ての慳貪をふせげ、人の生命は所有の豐なるには因らぬなり』 | And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. |
| 16 | また譬を語りて言ひ給ふ『ある富める人、その畑 豐に實りたれば、 | And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: |
| 17 | 心の中に議りて言ふ「われ如何にせん、我が作物を藏めおく處なし」 | And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? |
| 18 | 遂に言ふ「われ斯く爲さん、わが倉を毀ち、更に大なるものを建てて、其處にわが穀物および善き物をことごとく藏めん。 | And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. |
| 19 | かくてわが靈魂に言はん、靈魂よ、多年を過すに足る多くの善き物を貯へたれば、安んぜよ、飮食せよ、樂しめよ」 | And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. |
| 20 | 然るに神かれに「愚なる者よ、今宵なんぢの靈魂とらるべし、さらば汝の備へたる物は、誰がものとなるべきぞ」と言ひ給へり。 | But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? |
| 21 | 己のために財を貯へ、神に對して富まぬ者は斯くのごとし』 | So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. |
| 22 | また弟子たちに言ひ給ふ『この故にわれ汝らに告ぐ、何を食はんと生命のことを思ひ煩ひ、何を著んと體のことを思ひ煩ふな。 | And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. |
| 23 | 生命は糧にまさり、體は衣に勝るなり。 | The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. |
| 24 | 鴉を思ひ見よ、播かず、刈らず、納屋も倉もなし。然るに神は之を養ひたまふ、汝ら鳥に優るること幾許ぞや。 | Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? |
| 25 | 汝らの中たれか思ひ煩ひて、身の長 一尺を加へ得んや。 | And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? |
| 26 | されば最 小き事すら能はぬに、何ぞ他のことを思ひ煩ふか。 | If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? |
| 27 | 百合を思ひ見よ、紡がず、織らざるなり。されど我なんぢらに告ぐ、榮華を極めたるソロモンだに、其の服裝この花の一つにも及かざりき。 | Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. |
| 28 | 今日ありて、明日 爐に投げ入れらるる野の草をも、神は斯く裝ひ給へば、況て汝らをや、ああ信仰うすき者よ、 | If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? |
| 29 | なんぢら何を食ひ何を飮まんと求むな、また心を動かすな。 | And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. |
| 30 | 是みな世の異邦人の切に求むる所なれど、汝らの父は、此 等の物のなんぢらに必要なるを知り給へばなり。 | For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. |
| 31 | ただ父の御國を求めよ。さらば此 等の物は、なんぢらに加へらるべし。 | But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. |
| 32 | 懼るな、小き群よ、なんぢらに御國を賜ふことは、汝らの父の御意なり。 | Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. |
| 33 | 汝らの所有を賣りて施濟をなせ。己がために舊びぬ財布をつくり、盡きぬ財寶を天に貯へよ。かしこは盜人も近づかず、蟲も壞らぬなり、 | Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. |
| 34 | 汝らの財寶のある所には、汝らの心もあるべし。 | For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. |
| 35 | なんぢら腰に帶し、燈火をともして居れ。 | Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; |
| 36 | 主人、婚筵より歸り來りて戸を叩かば、直ちに開くために待つ人のごとくなれ。 | And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. |
| 37 | 主人の來るとき、目を覺しをるを見らるる僕どもは幸福なるかな。われ誠に汝らに告ぐ、主人 帶して其の僕どもを食事の席に就かせ、進みて給仕すべし。 | Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. |
| 38 | 主人、夜の半ごろ若くは夜の明くる頃に來るとも、かくの如くなるを見らるる僕どもは幸福なり。 | And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. |
| 39 | なんぢら之を知れ、家主もし盜人いづれの時 來るかを知らば、その家を穿たすまじ。 | And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. |
| 40 | 汝らも備へをれ。人の子は思はぬ時に來ればなり』 | Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. |
| 41 | ペテロ言ふ『主よ、この譬を言ひ給ふは我らにか、また凡ての人にか』 | Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all? |
| 42 | 主いひ給ふ『主人が時に及びて僕どもに定の糧を與へさする爲に、その僕どもの上に立つる忠實にして慧き支配人は誰なるか、 | And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? |
| 43 | 主人のきたる時、かく爲し居るを見らるる僕は幸福なるかな。 | Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. |
| 44 | われ實をもて汝らに告ぐ、主人すべての所有を彼に掌どらすべし。 | Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. |
| 45 | 若しその僕、心のうちに、主人の來るは遲しと思ひ、僕・婢女をたたき、飮食して醉ひ始めなば、 | But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; |
| 46 | その僕の主人、おもはぬ日 知らぬ時に來りて、之を烈しく笞うち、その報を不 忠 者と同じうせん。 | The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. |
| 47 | 主人の意を知りながら用意せず、又その意に從はぬ僕は、笞うたるること多からん。 | And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. |
| 48 | されど知らずして打たるべき事をなす者は、笞うたるること少からん。多く與へらるる者は、多く求められん。多く人に托くれば、更に多くその人より請ひ求むべし。 | But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. |
| 49 | 我は火を地に投ぜんとて來れり。此の火すでに燃えたらんには、我また何をか望まん。 | I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? |
| 50 | されど我には受くべきバプテスマあり。その成し遂げらるるまでは、思ひ逼ること如何ばかりぞや。 | But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! |
| 51 | われ地に平和を與へんために來ると思ふか。われ汝らに告ぐ、然らず、反つて分爭なり。 | Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: |
| 52 | 今よりのち一家に五 人あらば、三人は二人に、二人は三人に分れ爭はん。 | For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. |
| 53 | 父は子に、子は父に、母は娘に、娘は母に、姑姆は嫁に、嫁は姑姆に分れ爭はん』 | The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. |
| 54 | イエスまた群衆に言ひ給ふ『なんぢら雲の西より起るを見れば、直ちに言ふ「急雨きたらん」と、果して然り。 | And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. |
| 55 | また南 風ふけば、汝 等いふ「強き暑あらん」と、果して然り。 | And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. |
| 56 | 僞善者よ、汝ら天 地の氣色を辨ふることを知りて、今の時を辨ふること能はぬは何ぞや。 | Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? |
| 57 | また何 故みづから正しき事を定めぬか。 | Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? |
| 58 | なんぢ訴ふる者とともに司に往くとき、途にて和解せんことを力めよ。恐らくは訴ふる者なんぢを審判 人に引きゆき、審判 人なんぢを下役にわたし、下役なんぢを獄に投げ入れん。 | When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. |
| 59 | われ汝に告ぐ、一レプタも殘りなく償はずば、其處に出づること能はじ』 | I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite. |
