Someone Saved from Death Praises God I love the Lord, because he hears me; he listens to my prayers.
I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. |
He listens to me every time I call to him. | Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
The danger of death was all around me; the horrors of the grave closed in on me; I was filled with fear and anxiety. | The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
Then I called to the Lord, “I beg you, Lord, save me!” | Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
The Lord is merciful and good; our God is compassionate. | Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
The Lord protects the helpless; when I was in danger, he saved me. | The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
Be confident, my heart, because the Lord has been good to me. | Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
The Lord saved me from death; he stopped my tears and kept me from defeat. | For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
And so I walk in the presence of the Lord in the world of the living. | I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
I kept on believing, even when I said, “I am completely crushed,” | I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
even when I was afraid and said, “No one can be trusted.” | I said in my haste, All men are liars.
What can I offer the Lord for all his goodness to me? | What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?
I will bring a wine offering to the Lord, to thank him for saving me. | I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
In the assembly of all his people I will give him what I have promised. | I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
How painful it is to the Lord when one of his people dies! | Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did. You have saved me from death. | O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
I will give you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and offer my prayer to you. | I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.
— | I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people,
In the assembly of all your people, in the sanctuary of your Temple in Jerusalem, I will give you what I have promised. Praise the Lord! | In the courts of the Lord’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.
