1	WEITERE GESETZLICHE REGELUNGEN / Erbregelung beim Fehlen von Söhnen Zelofhad, der Sohn Hefers, der über seine Vorfahren Gilead, Machir und Manasse von Josef abstammte, hatte fünf Töchter hinterlassen: Machla, Noa, Hogla, Milka und Tirza.	Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.
2	Diese kamen an den Eingang des Heiligen Zeltes und sagten zu Mose und dem Priester Eleasar vor den Stammesoberhäuptern und der ganzen Gemeinde:	And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
3	»Unser Vater ist in der Wüste gestorben. Er gehörte nicht zu den Anhängern Korachs, die sich gegen den Herrn aufgelehnt hatten, sondern er musste sterben, weil er wie alle anderen seiner Generation dem Herrn ungehorsam gewesen war. Er hat keine Söhne hinterlassen.	Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the Lord in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.
4	Soll nun sein Name in Israel aussterben, nur weil kein männlicher Erbe da ist, der ihn weiterträgt? Gebt uns in der Sippe unseres Vaters einen eigenen Anteil am Landbesitz!«	Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
5	Mose bat den Herrn um eine Entscheidung	And Moses brought their cause before the Lord.
6	und der Herr antwortete ihm:	And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
7	»Die Töchter Zelofhads haben recht. Sie sollen neben den Brüdern ihres Vaters erbberechtigt sein und den väterlichen Grundbesitz erben.	The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father’s brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.
8	Zu allen Israeliten aber sollst du sagen: ›Wenn ein Mann stirbt, ohne einen Sohn zu hinterlassen, hat seine Tochter Anspruch auf sein Erbe.	And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.
9	Hat er auch keine Tochter, so soll es seinen Brüdern zufallen,	And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren.
10	und wenn er keine Brüder hat, den Brüdern seines Vaters.	And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father’s brethren.
11	Hat auch sein Vater keine Brüder, so fällt das Erbe dem Nächstverwandten aus seiner Sippe zu.‹ Dies soll bei den Israeliten gültiges Recht werden. Ich, der Herr, habe es angeordnet und dir gesagt.«	And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the Lord commanded Moses.
12	Josua als Moses Nachfolger Der Herr sagte zu Mose: »Steig auf das Abarim-Gebirge und blicke über das Land, das ich dem Volk Israel geben will!	And the Lord said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
13	Danach musst du sterben, so wie dein Bruder Aaron gestorben ist.	And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.
14	Ihr dürft das Land nicht betreten, weil ihr mir damals in der Wüste Zin nicht gehorcht habt. Als die ganze Gemeinde gegen mich Anklage erhob, wolltet ihr mir keine Gelegenheit geben, mich vor den Leuten von Israel durch das Wasser aus dem Felsen als der heilige und mächtige Gott zu erweisen.« – Von daher hatte die Quelle bei Kadesch den Namen Meriba, d.h. Anklage, erhalten.	For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
15	Mose sagte:	And Moses spake unto the Lord, saying,
16	»Herr, du Gott, von dem alles Leben kommt, setze einen Mann ein, der das Volk führt,	Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
17	der an der Spitze des Heeres mit ihm auszieht und an seiner Spitze wieder mit ihm heimkehrt. Sonst wird deine Gemeinde wie eine Herde sein, die keinen Hirten hat.«	Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd.
18	—	And the Lord said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;
19	Der Herr antwortete: »Nimm Josua, den Sohn Nuns; ihn habe ich durch meinen Geist dazu befähigt. Lass ihn vor den Priester Eleasar und die ganze Gemeinde treten und bestelle ihn vor ihnen allen zu deinem Nachfolger. Leg deine Hände auf ihn	And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
20	und gib ihm von deiner Vollmacht, damit ihm die ganze Gemeinde Israel gehorcht.	And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
21	Bei allen wichtigen Entscheidungen soll er sich an den Priester Eleasar wenden, damit der durch die heiligen Lose meine Weisung einholt. Nach dem Bescheid Eleasars sollen dann er und alle Israeliten handeln.«	And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the Lord: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
22	Mose tat, was der Herr ihm befohlen hatte. Er holte Josua und ließ ihn vor Eleasar und die ganze Gemeinde treten.	And Moses did as the Lord commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:
23	Dann legte er seine Hände auf ihn und setzte ihn als seinen Nachfolger ein, wie der Herr es ihm aufgetragen hatte.	And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.
