| 1 | O DIO, fammi ragione, e dibatti la mia lite; Liberami dalla gente spietata, dall’uomo frodolente ed iniquo. | Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. |
| 2 | Perciocchè tu sei l’Iddio della mia fortezza; perchè mi hai scacciato? Perchè vo io attorno vestito a bruno, Per l’oppression del nemico? | For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? |
| 3 | Manda la tua luce, e la tua verità; guidinmi esse, Ed introducanmi al monte della tua santità, e ne’ tuoi tabernacoli. | O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. |
| 4 | Allora verrò all’Altare di Dio, all’Iddio dell’allegrezza del mio giubilo; E ti celebrerò colla cetera, o Dio, Dio mio. | Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God. |
| 5 | Perchè ti abbatti, anima mia? e perchè ti commovi in me? Aspetta Iddio; perciocchè ancora lo celebrerò; Egli è la compiuta salvezza della mia faccia, e il mio Dio. | Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. |
