| 2 | Kunnioita isääs ja äitiäs, (joka on ensimäinen käsky, jolla lupaus on,) | Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) |
| 3 | Ettäs menestyisit ja kauvan eläisit maan päällä. | That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. |
| 4 | Ja te isät, älkäät yllyttäkö lapsianne vihaan, vaan kasvattakaat heitä kurituksessa ja Herran nuhteessa. | And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. |

| 7 | Hyvällä mielellä palvellen Herraa, ja ei ihmisiä. | With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: |
| 8 | Tietäen, että mitä hyvää kukin tekee, sen hän on jälleen Herralta saapa, olkoon orja eli vapaa. | Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. |
| 9 | Ja te isännät, tehkäät myös niin heitä kohtaan, ja pankaat pois uhkaukset, tietäen, että teidän Herranne on myös taivaissa, jonka edessä ei ole ihmisen muodon katsomusta. | And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. |

| 12 | Sillä ei meillä ole sota verta ja lihaa vastaan, vaan pääruhtinaita ja valtoja vastaan, maailman herroja vastaan, jotka tämän maailman pimeydessä vallitsevat, pahoja henkiä vastaan taivaan alla. | For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. |

| 15 | Ja jalat valmiiksi kengitetyt, saarnaamaan rauhan evankeliumia. | And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; |
| 16 | Mutta kaikissa ottakaat uskon kilpi, jolla te voitte sammuttaa kaikki ruman tuliset nuolet. | Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. |
| 17 | Ja ottakaat päähänne autuuden rautalakki, ja hengen miekka, joka on Jumalan sana, | And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: |
| 18 | Ja rukoilkaat joka aika kaikella rukoilemisella ja anomisella hengessä, ja siinä valvokaat kaikella ahkeruudella ja rukouksella kaikkein pyhäin tähden, | Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; |
| 19 | Ja minunkin tähteni, että minulle puhetta annettaisiin avoimella suulla rohkiasti puhuakseni, ja niin tiettäväksi tekisin evankeliumin salaisuuden. | And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, |
