The psalm of David, which he sung to the Lord, for the words of Chusi, the son of Jemini. | O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
O Lord, my God, in thee have I put my trust; save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me. | Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
Lest at any time he seize upon my soul like a lion, while there is no one to redeem me, nor to save. | O Lord my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
O Lord, my God, if I have done this thing, if there be iniquity in my hands: | If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
If I have rendered to them that repaid me evils, let me deservedly fall empty before my enemies. | Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
Let the enemy pursue my soul, and take it, and tread down my life, on the earth, and bring down my glory to the dust. | Arise, O Lord, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
Rise up, O Lord, in thy anger: and be thou exalted in the borders of my enemies. And arise, O Lord, my God, in the precept which thou hast commanded: | So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
And a congregation of people shall surround thee. And for their sakes return thou on high. | The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me. | Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought; and thou shalt direct the just: the searcher of hearts and reins is God. Just | My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
Is my help from the Lord; who saveth the upright of heart. | God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
God is a just judge, strong and patient: is he angry every day? | If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
Except you will be converted, he will brandish his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. | He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
And in it he hath prepared to instruments of death, he hath made ready his arrows for them that burn. | Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
Behold he hath been in labour with injustice: he hath conceived sorrow, and brought forth iniquity. | He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
He hath opened a pit and dug it: and he is fallen into the hole he made. | His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
His sorrow shall be turned on his own head: and his iniquity shall come down upon his crown. | I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.
I will give glory to the Lord according to his justice: and will sing to the name of the Lord the most high. | —
