| 2 | Écoute, ô Dieu ! ma voix, quand je me plains ; garde ma vie de la crainte de l’ennemi. | Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: |
| 3 | Cache-moi loin du conseil secret des méchants, et de la foule tumultueuse des ouvriers d’iniquité, | Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: |
| 4 | Qui ont aiguisé leur langue comme une épée, ajusté leur flèche, – une parole amère, | That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. |
| 5 | Pour tirer de leurs cachettes contre celui qui est intègre : soudain ils tirent sur lui, et ils ne craignent pas. | They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? |
| 6 | Ils s’affermissent dans de mauvaises choses, ils s’entretiennent ensemble pour cacher des pièges ; ils disent : Qui le verra ? | They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. |
| 7 | Ils méditent des méchancetés : Nous avons fini ; la machination est ourdie. L’intérieur de chacun, et le cœur, est profond. | But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. |
| 8 | Mais Dieu tirera sa flèche contre eux : soudain ils sont blessés ; | So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away. |
| 9 | Et leur langue les fera tomber les uns par-dessus les autres ; tous ceux qui les voient s’enfuiront. | And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. |
| 10 | Et tous les hommes craindront, et ils raconteront les actes de Dieu, et considéreront son œuvre. | The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory. |
