| 2 | C’est en vain que vous vous levez matin, que vous vous couchez tard, que vous mangez le pain de douleurs. Ainsi, il donne le sommeil à son bien-aimé. | It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. |
| 3 | Voici, les fils sont un héritage de l’Éternel, [et] le fruit du ventre est une récompense. | Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. |
