| 1 | Israel er et frodigt Vintræ, det sætter sig Frugt: Eftersom hans Frugt blev mangfoldig, gjorde han Altrene mangfoldige, eftersom det gik hans Land godt, gjorde han Billedstøtterne gode. | Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images. |
| 2 | Glat var deres Hjerte, nu skulle de bøde; han skal sønderbryde deres Altre, ødelægge deres Billedstøtter. | Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images. |
| 3 | Thi nu skulle de sige: Vi have ingen Konge; thi vi frygtede ikke Herren, og Kongen, hvad skulde han kunne gøre for os? | For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the Lord; what then should a king do to us? |

| 5 | For Kalvene i Beth-Aven grue Samarias Indbyggere; thi dens Folk sørger over den, og dens Præster skælve for den, for dens Herligheds Skyld, thi den er bortført fra dem. | The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Beth–aven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it. |
