1 Og disse ere Noas Sønners Slægter, Sems, Kams og Jafets; og dem fødtes Børn efter Floden. Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.
2 Jafets Sønner vare: Gomer og Magog og Madai og Javan og Thubal og Mesek og Thiras. The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Og Gomers Sønner: Askenas og Rifat og Thogarma. And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Og Javans Sønner: Elisa og Tharsis, Kithim og Dodanim. And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5 Af disse bleve Hedningernes Øer befolkede i deres Lande, hver efter sit Tungemaal, efter deres Slægter, i deres Folk. By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
6 Og Kams Sønner vare: Kus og Mizraim og Put og Kanaan. And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7 Og Kus' Sønner: Seba og Havila og Sabtha og Raema og Sabtheka; og Raemas Sønner: Skeba og Dedan. And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
8 Men Kus avlede Nimrod; han begyndte at blive en vældig paa Jorden. And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 Han var en vældig Jæger for Herrens Ansigt; derfor siges: Som Nimrod, en vældig Jæger for Herrens Ansigt. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
10 Og Babel var hans Riges Begyndelse, og Erek og Akad og Kalne i Landet Sinear. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 Fra dette Land drog han ud til Assur, og han byggede Ninive og Rekoboth-Ir og Kala Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,
12 og Resen imellem Ninive og Kala; denne er den store Stad. And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
13 Og Mizraim avlede Luder og Anamer og Lehaber og Naftuher And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
14 og Pathruser og Gasluher, fra hvilke Filisterne udgik, og Kaftorer. And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.
15 Og Kanaan avlede Zidon, sin førstefødte, og Heth And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
16 og Jebusiter og Amoriter og Girgarsiter And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,
17 og Heviter og Arkiter og Siniter And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18 og Arvaditer og Zemariter og Hamathiter; og derefter udbredte sig Kananiternes Slægter. And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.
19 Og Kananiternes Grænse var fra Zidon henimod Gerar indtil Gaza, henimod Sodoma og Gomorra, Adma og Zeboim indtil Lasa. And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
20 Disse ere Kams Børn efter deres Slægter, efter deres Tungemaal, i deres Lande, i deres Folk. These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
21 Og Sem fødtes ogsaa Børn; han var alle Ebers Børns Fader, Jafets ældre Broder. Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.
22 Sems Sønner vare: Elam og Assur og Arfaksad og Lud og Aram. The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 Og Arams Sønner vare: Uz og Hul og Gether og Mas. And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 Og Arfaksad avlede Sala; og Sala avlede Eber. And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.
25 Og Eber fødtes to Sønner: den enes Navn var Peleg, fordi Jorden blev skiftet i hans Tid, og hans Broders Navn var Joktan. And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.
26 Og Joktan avlede Almodad og Salef og Hazarmaveth og Jara And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
27 og Adoram og Usal og Dikla And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
28 og Obal og Abimael og Skeba And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29 og Ofir og Havila og Jobab; alle disse ere Joktans Sønner. And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.
30 Og deres Bolig var fra Mesa henimod Sefar, det Bjerg mod Østen. And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.
31 Disse ere Sems Børn efter deres Slægter, efter deres Tungemaal, i deres Lande, efter deres Folk. These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
32 Disse ere Noas Børns Slægter i deres Afkom, i deres Folk; og af dem have Folkene adskilt sig paa Jorden efter Floden. These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
