| 절 | Danish New Testament from 1819 with original orthography | King James Version |
|---|---|---|
Men du, tal, hvad der sømmer den sunde Lærdom: | But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
at de gamle Mænd skulle være aarvaagne, ærbare, sindige, sunde i Tro, i Kjærlighed, i Taalmodighed; | That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
desligeste, at de gamle Kvinder skulle holde sig i Klæder, som det sømmer de Hellige, ikke være Bagtalersker, ikke hengivne til megen Viin, men give god Lærdom; | The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
saa at de anføre de unge Kvinder til at elske deres Mænd, og at elske deres Børn, | That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
at være sindige, kydske, huuslige, velvillige, deres Mand underdanige; at Guds Ord skal ikke bespottes. | To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Forman ligesaa de unge Mænd at være sindige, | Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
visende dig selv i alle Maader som et Mønster paa gode Gjerninger, og i din Lære Reenhed, Værdighed, | In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
sund, ulastelig Tale, saa at Modstanderen maa beskæmmes, naar han intet Ondt haver at sige om Eder. | Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Tjenerne forman at være deres Herrer underdanige, velbehagelige i alle Ting, og ikke sige imod, | Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
ikke besvige, men bevise al god Troskab, at de kunne pryde Guds vor Frelsers Lærdom i alle Ting. | Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
Thi Guds saliggjørende Naade er aabenbaret for alle Mennesker, | For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
som oplærer os, at vi skulle forsage Ugudelighed og de verdslige Begjeringer, og leve tugteligen og retfærdeligen og gudeligen i denne Verden; | Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
forventende det salige Haab og den store Guds og vor Frelsers Jesu Christi Herligheds Aabenbarelse, | Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
som gav sig selv for os, at han maatte forløse os fra al Uretfærdighed og rense sig selv et Eiendomsfolk, nidkjært til gode Gjerninger. | Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Tal dette og forman dertil, og irettesæt med al Myndighed; lad Ingen foragte dig! | These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
