| 1 | Halleluja! Salig er den, der frygter HERREN og ret har Lyst til hans Bud! | Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. |
| 2 | Hans Æt bliver mægtig paa Jord, den Oprigtiges Slægt velsignes; | His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. |
| 3 | Velstand og Rigdom er i hans Hus, hans Retfærdighed varer evindelig. | Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. |
| 4 | For den oprigtige oprinder Lys i Mørke; han er mild, barmhjertig, retfærdig. | Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. |
| 5 | Salig den, der ynkes og laaner ud og styrer sine Sager med Ret; | A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. |
| 6 | thi han rokkes aldrig i Evighed, den retfærdige ihukommes for evigt; | Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. |
| 7 | han frygter ikke for onde Tidender, hans Hjerte er trøstigt i Tillid til HERREN; | He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. |
| 8 | fast er hans Hjerte og uden Frygt, indtil han skuer sine Fjender med Fryd; | His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. |
| 9 | til fattige deler han rundhaandet ud, hans Retfærdighed varer evindelig; med Ære løfter hans Horn sig. | He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. |
| 10 | Den gudløse ser det og græmmer sig, skærer Tænder og gaar til Grunde; de gudløses Attraa bliver til intet. | The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish. |
